Last night on the farm, Binghamton played a double header and St. Lucie went to extra innings, so we had quite the interesting night.  Let’s check it out:


Fresno 7, Las Vegas 5


Greg Peavey got roughed up in his return to AAA, giving up 6 runs in 4 innings.  Josh Satin, Andrew Brown, Brandon Allen, and Zach Lutz had 2 hits each.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a solo homer.  Brown and Xorge Carrillo both doubled.


Binghamton 5, Portland 0 (Game 1, 7 innings)


Hansel Robles threw 6 shutout innings, allowing 6 hits and no walks while striking out 2.  Cody Satterwhite threw a scoreless 7th to close out the game.  Kevin Plawecki was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Matt Clark was 2 for 2, including a 3-run homer.  Darrell Ceciliani was 2 for 3 with an RBI.


Portland 8, Binghamton 2 (Game 2, 7 innings)


Angel Cuan got hit hard for 8 runs on 12 hits over 4 innings.  Jayce Boyd was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Dustin Lawley doubled.


St. Lucie 5, Lakeland 4 (11 innings)


Steven Matz struck out 8 in 6 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits with no walks.  Seth Lugo struck out 6 in 3 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits and then Beck Wheeler struck out 5 in 2 perfect innings to get the win.  Dilson Herrera was 3 for 6 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Brandon Nimmo was 2 for 5 with a double, RBI, and walk.  T.J. Rivera had 2 hits; Cam Maron drove in 2 runs.


Savannah 6, Charleston 0


Kevin McGowan threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4.  Paul Perez threw 2 shutout innings, striking out 3.  Patrick Biondi, L.J. Mazzilli, and Dominic Smith all had 2 hits.  Jeff McNeil doubled and Jorge Rivero drove in 2 runs.  Gavin Cecchini missed his second straight game with some kind of hand injury.  Dominic Smith left the game in the 5th inning after grounding into a double play; earlier in the game he fouled a ball off his foot.
