Last night on the farm there was a rain out and a whole lot of strikeouts.  Let’s explore. Rafael Montero was scheduled to make a spot start for Las Vegas, but the game in Iowa was postponed by rain.  They will try to play 2 games today.  Montero should pitch one of the games, and as of now the plan is to send him back to Binghamton afterwards. Binghamton 6, New Britain 3Logan Verrett struck out 10 in 6 innings and got his 6th win of the season, despite allowing 3 runs on 9 hits.  Adam Kolarek threw 2 scoreless innings and Jeff Walters picked up his 12th save of the season.  Cesar Puello was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  Allan Dykstra doubled, homered, and drove in 4 runs. Dunedin 4, St. Lucie 3Matthew Bowman struck out 11 and walked 1 in 7 innings of work, while giving up 2 runs on 6 hits.  Ryan Fraser gave up a run in his season debut and Randy Fontanez gave up the game-winning run in the bottom of the 9th.  The Lucies got 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 5 times against Josh Johnson in the first 3 innings.  Travis Taijeron and Rylan Sandoval each had 2 hits, including a double.  Dustin Lawley also doubled. Savannah 5, Charleston 2Gabriel Ynoa threw 6 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7.  Paul Sewald gave up 2 runs in 2.1 innings and Bret Mitchell struck out the final 2 batters of the game to get his 8th save of the year.  Cole Frenzel was 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI’s.  Eudy Pina tripled.  Stefan Sabol doubled.  Jayce Boyd was hitless.  Kevin Plawecki was 1 for 4 with a run scored.  Both Boyd and Plawecki have cooled down some, but they’re still hitting .346 and .361 respectively.
