For the second straight day, everyone on the farm won except Vegas.  Let’s have a look:

 

Sacramento 10, Las Vegas 1

 

Giancarlo Alvarado let up 6 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings.  Miguel Socolovich gave up 3 more.  Allan Dykstra was 3 for 4 with a double and homer.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis was 2 for 4 with a triple.  Matt den Dekker was 0 for 4 with a strikeout, and will now be promoted to take Eric Young’s place; den Dekker has hit .269/.326/.421 with 4 homers, 2 triples, and 10 double.  The 51s have now lost 5 in a row, but still have a comfortable 8 game lead in their division.

 

Binghamton 3, New Britain 1

 

Angel Cuan allowed just 1 run over 5 innings to get the win.  Jack Leathersich struck out 5 and walked none in 2 scoreless innings.  In the month of May, Leathersich has allowed 1 run in 10 innings while striking out 20 and walking 5.  Cody Satterwhite struck out 2 in a scoreless 9th and got the save.  Travis d’Arnaud was 1 for 3 with a 2-run homer in his first rehab game; he also caught 5 innings as planned.  Kyle Johnson was 3 for 4 with a double. 

 

Palm Beach 4, St. Lucie 1

 

Steven Matz took the loss after allowing 2 unearned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, walking 2 and striking out 3, lowering his ERA to 1.95.  The Lucies had just 6 hits, including Brandon Nimmo’s 4th homer of the season.

 

Savannah 11, Lexington 6

 

Chris Flexen had a solid outing, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, walking 3 and striking out 2.  Dario Alvarez gave up 4 runs in 3 innings, but he struck out 5 and got credit for a save.  Jorge Rivero was 4 for 5 with a homer.  Victor Cruzado and Stefan Sabol also homered.  Gavin Cecchini was 2 for 5 with a double.  Dominic Smith was 1 for 5 with an RBI.
