Happy Memorial Day to one and all, and a special thank you to the members of the military this holiday weekend, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.  Also, a bon voyage to Kevin Mulvey who retires yesterday.  Kevin was the Mets top pick (2nd round) in the 2006 draft out of Villanova University.  In 2008, he was traded to the Twins in the deal that brought back Johan Santana.  This offseason he signed a minor league deal with the Mets and was 0-1 with a 5.59 ERA at AA Binghamton. He played in the majors for both Minnesota and the Arizona Diamondbacks, finishing with a line of 0-3, 7.90 ERA, 27.1 IP, 14BB, 19K.  Happy trails in your next stage of life, Kevin.Scranton 1, Buffalo 0Tough day for the pitching, as the Bisons hurlers deserved to win this game.  Chris Schwinden took the loss, giving up a solo home run in 5.2 innings of work with six strikeouts.  Pedro Beato went .2 innings of scoreless relief.  The Herd did have seven different players record a hit for nine total, but could not muster a single run.Binghamton 6, New Hampshire 1Mark Cohoon was very effective tonight, going seven solid allowing a run on two hits with two walks and a strikeout.  Robbie Carson, back from Queens, tossed two scoreless to close it out.  Sean Kazmar (who made an appearance in a chapter of the book I’m reading) was 2 for 4, as was Juan Lagares, who also had two RBI and a run scored.  Reese Havens was 1 for 2 with an RBISt. Lucie 2, Charlotte 1LF Joe Bonfe delivered a two run single in the fifth innings, and that was enough for the Lucies to hang on against the Stone Crabs.  Eric Goeddel danced through (proverbial) raindrops for five innings, allowing a run on four hits and four walks against two strikeouts.  Hamilton Bennett and Adam Kolarek (who got the save) combined for four shutout innings of relief. Savannah 5, Augusta 4Down a run with two out in the ninth, catcher Alberto Cordero singled in TJ Rivera to tie the game, then Greg Pron followed suit to drive in Travis Taijeron with the go ahead tally.  Jared West walked a pair in the bottom of the ninth, but TJ Chism came in to put out the fire for the Sand Gants.
