Rain strikes on the farm, postponing Savannah’s game and suspending Binghamton’s, but we carry on nonetheless.

Las Vegas 8, El Paso 5

The 51s snapped a 6-game losing streak behind Dana Eveland, who struck out 8 in 5 innings, while allowing 2 runs.  Jeff Walters gave up 3 runs in 1 inning of work, but Buddy Carlyle came on for the 6-out save.  Andrew Brown doubled, tripled, and drove in 2 runs.  Josh Satin was 2 for 5 with a double.  Omar Quintanilla drove in 2 runs.

Binghamton 6, New Hampshire 0 (suspended in 2nd inning)

The B-Mets jumped to a 6-0 lead before rain forced the game to be suspended.  It will be continued today before the regularly scheduled game, but it will be done sans Travis d’Arnaud, who will head back to New York to be re-evaluated after flying to center and walking in 2 plate appearances.

Brevard County 2, St. Lucie 1

Michael Fulmer took the loss after giving up 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings; he walked 4 and struck out 5.  Brandon Nimmo left the game midway through after pulling up lame chasing a grounder in centerfield.  I haven’t heard anything, but it doesn’t appear to be serious.  Gilbert Gomez replaced him and had 2 of St. Lucie’s 4 hits.
