A real good Sunday all across Mets land, with just a single blemish.Buffalo 5, Gwinnett 3 (game 1)Buffalo scored 5 runs in the 5th to steal game one of yet another double-header, overcoming 3 errors in the field. Brian Sweeney had a solid outing, going 5 innings giving up 3 runs (1 earned), before Bobby Parnell pitched 2 perfect innings striking out 3 for the save. The Bisons had just 4 hits, but one of them was a grand slam by Val Pascucci (seen here: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=15336837). Fernando Martinez drove in the other run on a sac fly in his first game back in Buffalo.Buffalo 2, Gwinnett 1 (game 2)The Herd managed just 3 hits, but that’s all they needed. Michael Fisher and Lucas Duda both had solo homers to supply the scoring. Duda went yard for the second straight day, this time sending one to the opposite field. Adam Rubin tweeted that one scout called Duda’s homerun “impressive”. With Chris Schwinden being bumped this weekend for a possible start in place of R.A. Dickey this week, the Bisons used 4 relievers to get them through this game. John Lujan pitched the first 3 innings, pushing his ERA below 3, which is nearly half of what is was in AAA a season ago. Justin Hampson got the win with 1.2 scoreless, followed by Ryota Igarashi who went 1.1, and Manny Acosta who struck out 2 and got his 3rd save of the year.Binghamton 4, Altoona 1Brandon Moore got back on track after a few rough outings, pitching 6 strong innings, giving up just 1 run and striking out 6. Eric Niesen and Ricky Brooks combined for 3 shutout innings to finish the job. Salomon Manriquez and Brahaim Maldonado each had a homerun. Reese Havens was 1-4.Dunedin 12, St. Lucie 1Scott Moviel got pounded into the ground for 8 runs in 3.1 innings. Ronny Morla continues to get hit hard in advanced A giving up 4 runs without getting an out. Jeffrey Kaplan and Nick Carr had 2 scoreless innings each, but far too late to make a difference. Matt Den Dekker had another multi-hit game, but also struck out twice. Juan Lagares tripled, as he continues to hit the ball well. Wilmer Flores doubled and Jefry Marte drove in the only Mets run of the game.Savannah 4, Charleston 3Chase Huchingson continues to be impressive, giving up 1 run in 5 innings while striking out 6 and walking just 1. In his last 23 innings he has given up just 4 earned runs. Angel Cuan gave up 2 runs to temporarily lose Savannah’s lead, but he did strike out 5 in 2.2, and did get the win. Josh Edgin got the final 4 outs, striking out 2 and getting his 8th save. The Gnats managed to score 4 runs on just 6 hits; Joe Bonfe had 2 of them. Cory Vaughn and Robbie Shields also had a hit each.DSL Mets2 7, DSL Dodgers 3The Mets #2 team in the Dominican improved to 2-0 on the young season. Four different guys had multi-hit games, including shortstop Jorge Rivero who had 3 hits, 2 of them doubles.
