Last night on the farm, the Lucies walked off with a win, Cesar Puello continued his hitting streak in a big way, and a couple people got ejected in Vegas (see if you can guess who). Let’s take a look: Round Rock 9, Las Vegas 5Carlos Torres gave up 5 runs in the 1st inning, and by the time his night was over he had give up 9 runs (all earned) in 4 plus innings. Wilmer Flores was 2 for 5 with a triple. Kai Gronauer and Brian Bixler had 2 hits each. Zack Lutz hit a 3-run homer and had 4 RBI’s total. Although he didn’t start, Kirk Nieuwenhuis homered after replacing Collin Cowgill midway through the game after Cowgill and Wally Backman were ejected. Binghamton 3, Trenton 1Logan Verrett was oh so close to a complete game, going 8.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. Jeff Walters got the final out for his 9th save of the year; he leads the Eastern League in saves. Cesar Puello homered twice, and drove in all 3 runs in doing so. Puello is now hitting .296/.360/.531. Cory Vaughn returned after more than a week off, and as the DH went 1 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout. Darrell Ceciliani left the game in the 5th inning, no explanation why thus far. St. Lucie 6, Dayton 5 (10 innings)Aderlin Rodriguez singled home T.J. Rivera in the bottom of the 10th to deliver a walk-off win for the Lucies. Rodriguez was 3 for 5 with a double, a homer, and 3 RBI’s. A-Rod has 10 hits, including 3 homers and 12 RBI’s in his last 5 games. Dustin Lawley and T.J. Rivera each had 2 hits. Matt Reynolds and Robbie Shields both homered. Gilbert Gomez was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Travis Taijeron won a golden sombrero.
