There were not 1 but 2 shutouts on the farm last night.  Also, the Dominican Summer League kicked off yesterday and Zack Wheeler was on the mound, so there’s plenty to get to.  Let’s take a look: Las Vegas 2, Fresno 1Zack Wheeler gave up a run on 3 hits in 6 innings of work, with just 1 walk and 6 strikeouts; he’s now 4-1 on the season.  Wheeler also doubled and scored a run.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit his 8th homer of the season to provide the only 2 runs of the game.  Wilmer Flores was not in the lineup because of inflammation in his hand after getting hit the previous night, but apparently he was coaching first base. Binghamton 6, New Hampshire 0Rafael Montero had a typical outing, 7 shutout innings, 5 hits and a walk with 4 strikeouts.  Chase Huchingson threw 2 scoreless innings to complete the shutout.  Danny Muno was 3 for 5 with a homer and 3 RBI’s.  Cory Vaughn was 3 for 5 with a double, homer, and 2 RBI’s.  Richard Lucas and Blake Forsythe had 2 hits each. Charlotte 2, St. Lucie 1 (7 innings)Domingo Tapia let up 1 run over 5 innings, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.  The only run came on a homer.  T.J. Chism let up a run that became the difference in the game.  Charley Thurber homered.  Travis Taijeron doubled.  This was supposed to be a double header, but game 2 was rained out, so they’ll try to play a double header today. Savannah 5, Kannapolis 0Luis Cessa struck out 10 and allowed 2 hits and no walks in 7.2 scoreless innings.  Tyler Vanderheiden struck out 3 in a scoreless 9th inning.  Cole Frenzel was 3 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Kevin Plawecki had 2 hits.  Brandon Nimmo was 1 for 4 with a double.  Eudy Pina and Yucary De La Cruz also doubled. DSL Mets1 2, DSL Rojos 0Eucebio Arias and Gregorix Estevez combined for 9 shutout innings and 7 strikeouts, allowing just 5 hits and 2 walks. DSL Mets2 6, DSL Marlins 3
