St. Lucie and Savannah both played double-headers, so it was a busy night on the farm.  Let’s get to it.

Las Vegas 3, Colorado Springs 1

Joel Carreno had a nice night, allowing 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings.  Scott Rice and Zack Thornton combined for the final 2 innings.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis was 3 for 5 with a triple.  Danny Muno had 2 hits and an RBI.  Travis d’Arnaud was 0 for 3 with 2 walks.

Binghamton 11, Akron 3

Greg Peavey had a nice outing, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings.  Chase Huchingson and Jack Leathersich both threw shutout innings in relief.  Kyle Johnson, Xorge Carrillo, and Rylan Sandoval all had 3 hits.  Sandoval, Matt Clark, and Jayce Boyd all drove in 2 runs.  Kevin Plawecki was 0 for 5, breaking a 7-game hitting streak, during which he had 11 hits

St. Lucie 12, Jupiter 7 (Game 1, 7 innings)

Gabriel Ynoa had some trouble, allowing 7 runs on 10 hits over 5.2 innings, but he did enough to get the win after striking out 4 and walking none.  Eric Young Jr. made his first rehab appearance, going 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 runs scored, playing all 7 innings in left field.  Dilson Herrera returned to the lineup and went 4 for 4.  Jairo Perez was 2 for 4 with a double, homer, and 4 RBI’s.  Cam Maron and Cole Frenzel both homered.

St. Lucie 14, Jupiter 7 (Game 2, 7 innings)

Matt Koch started, but only lasted 3.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks.  Seth Lugo threw 3.1 innings, allowing 3 runs, but he got the win.  Eudy Pina homered twice and drove in 4 runs.  Jairo Perez double twice and drove in 3 runs.  Aderlin Rodriguez was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, a triple, and 5 RBI’s.  Albert Cordero was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Brandon Nimmo returned to the lineup and went 0 for 3 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored.  The FSL all-star game is Saturday night in Bradenton, although the final three games of the first half will be played next week; St. Lucie is currently a half game behind Fort Myers, so they are still in play for a division title.

Savannah 3, Augusta 2 (Game 1, 8 innings)

Jonathan Leroux doubled home L.J. Mazzilli in the bottom of the 8th to give the Gnats the walk-off win a day after clinching a division title during a rain out.  Dominic Smith was 2 for 4.  Gavin Cecchini was 2 for 3 with a double and triple; however, he pulled up lame on his double and immediately left for a pinch runner.  Cecchini did not play in Game 2.  Robert Gsellman pitched all 8 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.

Savannah 6, Augusta 0 (Game 2, 7 innings)

John Gant threw a complete game shutout (7 innings), allowing 6 hits and 1 walk, striking out 5.  Patrick Biondi had 2 hits and scored 2 runs.  L.J. Mazzilli drove in 2 runs.  Stefan Sabol doubled.
