Just 3 games on the farm last night, but things will pick up soon, as St. Lucie is back in action tonight, Brooklyn starts its season tonight, Kingsport kicks off its season Thursday night, and the GCL Mets return to action Friday.  Now let’s check out the Father’s Day games: Colorado Springs 9, Las Vegas 7Chris Schwinden started and allowed 5 runs in 5 innings.  With the game tied heading into the 9th inning, Robert Carson let up 3 runs, including a 2-run homer.  Zach Lutz hit a 3-run homer, his 7th of the season.  Wilmer Flores was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 2 strikeouts.  Brian Bixler, Eric Campbell, and Andrew Brown all doubled.  Ike Davis was 0 for 4 with a walk and 2 strikeouts.  The 51s struck out 13 times. Binghamton 5, Bowie 4Joe Bonfe, of all people, hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th to give the B-Mets the win.  Richard Lucas also homered, as did Travis Taijeron, who went 3 for 4 with a double in addition to his 6th homerun since getting promoted to AA.  Mark Cohoon gave up 4 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings.  Adam Kolarek struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings, his ERA is down to 1.76.  John Church and Chase Huchingson each threw a scoreless inning of relief.  Still no sign of Cesar Puello, who hasn’t played since jamming his finger last Tuesday. Savannah 8, Greenville 0Gabriel Ynoa struck out 6 and allowed just 3 hits in 5 scoreless innings.  Marcos Camarena added 3 scoreless innings in relief.  Brandon Nimmo was 2 for 4 with a walk and a stikeout.  Jayce Boyd was 2 for 2 with an RBI and 3 walks.  Eudy Pina was 2 for 3 with a 2-run homer.  Greg Pron had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.  The Gnats finished the first half of the season as champions of the SAL South Division with a 43-26 record.  For a team that played without Brandon Nimmo for a month and didn’t have a lot of consistent producers on offense outside of NimBoyEcki, I was pleasantly surprised that this team won as many games as they did.  Ynoa, Bret Mitchell, Beck Wheeler, and the NimBoyEcki trio will play in the SAL All-Star Game Tuesday night in Lakewood, NJ, with promotions to follow for some after that.
