Some news on the minor league front: pitcher Luis Mateo underwent Tommy John Surgery last week, so he’ll be on the shelf for a while after being rated very highly (perhaps too highly) on many top prospect lists over the winter.  Also, Jim Fuller was promoted to AA, in what should be the first of many promotions in the days and weeks to come.  Now onto the games: Las Vegas 8, Tucson 4Matt Fox gave up 2 homers, but got the win after allowing 4 runs in 6 innings.  Gonzalez Germen threw 2 scoreless innings in relief.  Ike Davis was 2 for 2 with a double, an RBI, and 3 walks.  Wilmer Flores was 2 for 5 with a triple.  Eric Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI’s. Richmond 3, Binghamton 2 (Game 1, 8 innings)Erik Goeddel only lasted 5 innings, but he let up just 1 run on 4 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.  Pedro Feliciano threw 1.1 innings of relief without allowing a base runner.  Chase Huchingson gave up the game-winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Allan Dykstra hit a 2-run homer to supply the only runs in the game.  Cesar Puello doubled in his return from a finger injury after being out for about a week. Binghamton 8, Richmond 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)Darin Gorski allowed just 1 run over 5 innings, with 3 hits, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts.  Ryan Fraser and Adam Kolarek each threw a scoreless inning.  Cesar Puello was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 RBI’s, and 3 runs scored.  Allan Dykstra was 2 for 3 with a double, homer, and 3 RBI’s.  Richard Lucas drove in 2 runs. St. Lucie 5, Charlotte 4Rainy Lara let up 3 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.  T.J. Chism ended up with his 8th save of the year.  The Lucies did all their scoring in the same inning.  Robbie Shields was 2 for 4 with a homer.  Dustin Lawley and Gilbert Gomez had 2 hits each.  Matt den Dekker was 0 for 3 with a strikeout and an RBI. Staten Island 5, Brooklyn 2Miller Diaz let up 5 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits in 4.2 innings, walking 1 and striking out 4.  David Wynn struck out 3 in 1.1 innings.  Christian Chivilli struck out 3 in 2 hitless innings.  Matt Oberste was 3 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBI’s.  L.J. Mazzilli doubled and scored a run.  Gavin Cecchini was 0 for 4 with a strikeout. DSL Rojos 6, DSL Mets1 0Just 2 hits and 6 strikeouts for Mets hitters in this one.  This DSL Mets team is now 6-9 on the season. DSL Mets2 4, DSL Marlins 2Nabil Crismatt pitched the final 2.2 innings, striking out 3 without allowing a hit to get the save.  Jose Figuera and Alfredo Reyes had 2 hits each.
