Brandon Nimmo returned from conjunctivitis, but went 0 for 4. Dilson Herrera was 2 for 4 with a triple. Fort Myers also lost, so St. Lucie stays a game back in the loss column with two weeks left in the first half of the season.
Asheville 2, Savannah 1 (10 innings)
Chris Flexen made his best start of the season, striking out 10 in 7 innings, while allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk. Champ Stuart was 1 for 3 and stole his 3rd base in his 9th game this season. Savannah’s lead in the division is down to 5, with their magic number at 10.
