Steven Matz, Tim Byrdak, the debut of Dominic Smith, and some nice performances down in the Dominican highlight last night on the farm: Las Vegas 4, Salt Lake 1D.J. Mitchell was surprisingly efficient with 5 scoreless innings and 8 strikeouts.  Robert Carson got the save after a scoreless inning of work.  Ike Davis was 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts.  Rylan Sandoval doubled twice.  Francisco Pena also doubled and drove in a run. Binghamton 6, Erie 5 (10 innings)The B-Mets scored 4 runs to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th and then got a walk-off double form Josh Rodriguez to win the game in the 10th.  Danny Muno and Allan Dykstra also doubled.  Rhyne Hughes and Travis Taijeron both homered.  Wilfredo Tovar had 3 hits. Palm Beach 6, St. Lucie 5Matt den Dekker was 2 for 5.  Dustin Lawley, Jayce Boyd, and Robbie Shields all had 2 hits each.  Eastarlin Morel took the loss after giving up 3 runs in 2 innings.  Mark Cohoon started and let up 3 runs over 5 innings.  Pedro Feliciano threw a hitless inning in relief. Lexington 2, Savannah 0Steven Matz threw6 shutout innings with 2 hits, 3 walks, and 9 strikeouts, but Julian Hilario let up 2 runs and took the loss.  Chad Zurcher, Cole Frenzel, and Phillip Evans had 2 hits each.  Brandon Nimmo was 1 for 4.  The Gnats struck out 14 times. Aberdeen 5, Brooklyn 4 (10 innings)Seth Lugo started and let up 1 run on 3 hits over 4 innings.  David Wynn allowed the game-winning run in the 10th.  Gavin Cecchini and Juan Carlos Gamboa had 2 hits each. Johnson City 8, Kingsport 1Andrew Mass threw 2.1 innings of relief and let up 6 runs, which put the game out of reach.  Jeff Diehl had 2 of the K-Mets 4 hits, including a solo homer. GCL Nationals 3, GCL Mets 2Tim Byrdak started in a rehab appearance and threw a scoreless inning with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.  18-year old Marcos Molina let up 2 runs on 3 hits in 4.2 innings, but struck out 9.  Leon Canelon, Vicente Lupo, and Dominic Smith had 2 hits each, all singles. DSL Mets1 6, DSL Nationals 1Alejandro Diaz had 3 hits, a homer shy of the cycle.  Edwin Diaz, Jose Marla, and Franklin Correa had 2 hits each. DSL Mets2 8, DSL Yankees2 017-year old Darwin Ramos threw 6 shutout innings with 6 strikeouts.  He has allowed 2 runs in 18.2 innings with 19 strikeouts this year.  Enmanuel Zabala was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Alfredo Reyes was 2 for 5 with a double and RBI.
