Rain knocked out a few teams last night, but there was still plenty of action on the farm.  Let’s check it out:

 

Las Vegas 8, Albuquerque 1 (Game 1, 7 innings)

 

Matt Bowman had a strong outing, allowing 1 run on 7 hits over 6 innings, walking 2 and striking out 3.  Matt den Dekker was 3 for 4 with a double.  Allan Dykstra was 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s.  Wilmer Flores and Kevin Plawecki both homered.

 

Albuquerque 5, Las Vegas 2 (Game 2, 7 innings)

 

Greg Peavey got knocked out after 4.1 innings, allowing 4 runs while walking 3 and striking out 5.  Josh Satin was 3 for 3 with a walk.  Danny Muno and Juan Centeno both doubled.

 

Erie 7, Binghamton 3

 

Rainy Lara had another modest outing, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) over 6 innings, striking out 4 and walking 4.  Brian Burgamy had 3 hits.  T.J. Rivera and Darrell Ceciliani both had 2 hits; Rivera is hitting .349 early in his double-A career.  Brandon Nimmo took home the golden sombrero.

 

Lakeland 9, St. Lucie 3

 

Matt Koch took the loss after allowing 6 runs in 6.1 innings, walking 2 and striking out 4.  Tim Peterson let up 3 more.  Jared King was 3 for 4 with his FSL debut.  L.J. Mazzilli tripled and drove in 2 runs.  Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 4 with 2 strikeouts.

 

State College 4, Brooklyn 3

 

Carlos Valdez struck out 5 in 5 innings while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, but Gaither Bumgardner took the loss after allowing 1 run over the final 3 innings.  Amed Rosario, Jhoan Urena, Michael Katz, and Tomas Nido all had 2 hits each.

 

Kingsport 12, Elizabethton 0

 

Yoryi Nuez threw 5 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5.  Martires Arias followed with 4 shutout innings.  Pedro Perez was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Luis Guillorme, Jean Rodriguez, and Eudor Garcia all had 3 hits.  Oswald Caraballo and Miguel Leal had 2 hits.  Garcia and Leal both doubled.  Ivan Wilson was 1 for 3 with 2 walks and 2 RBI’s.
