The second half of the season is underway, so we have a full slate on the farm.  Let’s get to it:

 

Salt Lake 7, Las Vegas 6

 

Noah Syndergaard had a rough outing, allowing 7 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings, walking 3 and striking out 5.  Matt den Dekker, Josh Satin, and Kevin Plawecki all had 2 hits.  Wilmer Flores and den Dekker both legged out a triple.

 

Binghamton 8, Trenton 4

 

Steven Matz got the win after allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits over 5 innings, walking 2 and striking out 4.  Jack Leathersich struck out the side in the 9th.  Dilson Herrera was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Dustin Lawley was 2 for 4 with his 17th homer of the season and 4 RBI’s.  Jayce Boyd also had 2 hits.  Brandon Nimmo was 0 for 3 with 2 walks.

 

Brevard County 6, St. Lucie 1 (Game 1, 7 innings)

 

John Lannan gave up 4 runs on 9 hits in 4 innings.  St. Lucie had just 4 hits, including a homer by Eudy Pina.

 

St. Lucie 3, Brevard County 2 (Game 2, 7 innings)

 

Michael Fulmer was good again, throwing 6 shutout innings and striking out 9 while allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk.  Jared King was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 3.

 

Ashville 8, Savannah 7 (14 innings)

 

Ricky Knapp let up 5 runs on 9 hits in 5 innings, striking out 7.  The bullpen threw 8 shutout innings until the bottom of the 14th.  Matt Oberste was 3 for 7 with 2 homers and 3 RBI’s.  Champ Stuart, Nelfi Zapata, and Victor Cruzado had 2 hits each.  Dominic Smith was 1 for 6 with a walk.

 

Jamestown 8, Brooklyn 6 (10 innings)

 

Casey Meisner lasted just 2.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, striking out 4 and walking 2.  Amed Rosario was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.  Jhoan Urena had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.

 

Kingsport 5, Burlington 2

 

Martires Arias allowed 2 runs over 5 innings to get the win.  Bryce Beeler and Ty Williams both threw 2 shutout innings.  Jean Rodriguez, Luis Ortega, and Jose Garcia had 2 hits each.  Rodriguez, Ortega, Luis Guillorme, and Oswald Caraballo all doubled.  Wuilmer Becerra hit a solo homer.

 

GCL Mets 9, GCL Cardinals 7

 

Jeremy Hefner made another rehab start, and allowed 1 run over 2 innings with 1 strikeout and no walks.  John Mora was 5 for 5 with a double, 2 triples, and 3 RBI’s.  Milton Ramos was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s to get himself off the interstate.  Enmanual Zabala and Dionis Rodriguez also had 2 hits each.
