Last night on the farm, St. Lucie was rained out and the B-Mets were cut short, but Savannah and the GCL played extra innings to help make up for it.  Let’s have a look: Las Vegas 7, Reno 2Giancarlo Alvarado allowed 1 run in 6 innings; he’s 4-0 with an ERA of 1.03.  Jack Leathersich walked 2 and struck out 4 in 1.2 scoreless innings.  Francisco Pena and Matt den Dekker were both 2 for 4 with a double.  Jordany Valdespin was 1 for 3 with a homer and 3 RBI’s.  Ruben Tejada was 1 for 3 with a walk.  The 51s have taken over first place in the PCL Pacific Southern Division. Reading 5, Binghamton 4 (6 innings)Rain ended this game early with the B-Mets down a run.  Logan Verrett let up 9 hits, including 3 homers over 6 innings, giving up 5 runs and striking out 5.  Darrell Ceciliani was 3 for 3 with a double.  Allan Dykstra hit a 3-run homer. Savannah 4, Delmarva 2 (13 innings)Jake Kuebler allowed 2 runs in 6.2 innings with 4 strikeouts.  Shawn Teufel, Paul Sewald, and Wanel Mesa combined for 6.1 scoreless innings in relief.  Cole Frenzel was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  All 9 starters had at least 1 hit in 13 innings worth of at bats.  Brandon Nimmo was 1 for 4 with a walk and 3 strikeouts. Batavia 2, Brooklyn 0Carlos Valdez gave up 2 runs in 4.2 innings, and Akeel Morris piggy backed for 4.1 scoreless innings, striking out 6 and allowing 2 hits and 4 walks.  Morris has still not allowed an earned run 22 innings this year.  Jared King had the only 2 hits of the game for Brooklyn. Princeton 9, Kingsport 3Andres Perez got chased in the 4th inning after giving up 5 runs on 6 hits.  Alberto Baldonado let up 4 more runs in 2.1 innings.  Richie Rodriguez and Amed Rosario had 2 hits each, and both homered. GCL Cardinals 9, GCL Mets 8 (14 innings)Dominic Smith was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks; after a slow start his numbers in July are .283/.375/.472.  Wuilmer Becerra had 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts.  Cory Vaughn was 1 for 5 with a double, walk, and 2 strikeouts; he’s hitting just .172 against GCL pitchers in 9 games.  Brian Harrison is also doing some rehabbing, going 1 for 5 with 2 RBI’s.
