St. Lucie was rained out and Savannah was off, but the GCL played a double-header that featured some important names.  Let’s explore: Las Vegas 11, Reno 4A 6-run 4th inning carried Vegas to another high scoring win.  Mike Baxter, Zach Lutz, and Jamie Hoffman had 2 hits each.  Lutz, Ruben Tejada, Jordany Valdespin, Matt den Dekker, and Eric Campbell all had doubles.  Hoffman also homered.  Wilmer Flores was 1 for 4 with a strikeout and RBI. Binghamton 6, Reading 3Mark Cohoon was decent, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings.  Jeff Walters tied a B-Mets record with his 28th save.  Darrell Cecciliani, Wilfredo Tovar, and Xorge Carrillo had 2 hits each.  Cecillinai, Carrillo, and Alonzo Harris all doubled. Brooklyn 3, Lowell 2Dario Alvarez was fantastic, striking out 12 and allowing just 1 hit in 6 shutout innings.  Dawrin Frias blew the save but got the win after allowing 2 runs.  Johnny Magliozzi struck out the side in the 9th to get the save.  L.J. Mazzilli was 3 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Tomas Nido was 2 for 3 with a double, walk, and RBI. Kingsport 3, Elizabethton 2Martires Aria had a nice outing, allowing just 1 run over 5 innings.  Robert Coles let up a run in the top of the 9th to blow the save, but the K-Mets struck back in the bottom of the inning with Jeyckol De Leon delivering a walk-off single to score pinch runner Bradley Marquez.  Jeff McNeil and Joe Tuschak had 2 hits each.  McNeil and Champ Stuart both doubled.  The win moves the K-Mets ahead of Elizabethton for a playoff spot as the second place team in the Appalachian League West Division. GCL Mets 3, GCL Marlins 0 (Game 1, 7 innings)Marcos Molina struck out 7 in 6 scoreless innings, allowing just 2 hits.  Travis d’Arnaud was 1 for 3, catching 5 innings.  Lucas Duda was 0 for 2 with a walk and strikeout, playing left field for 5 innings. GCL Marlins 4, GCL Mets 2 (Game 2, 7 innings)Casey Meisner (3rd round) struck out 6 and allowed 1 unearned run on 1 hit through 3 innings.  Vicente Lupo and Elvis Sanchez hit back-to-back homers in the 5th inning; these are two really talented guys that are really struggling in their first year in the States.
