Last night on the farm, Noah Syndergaard had a nice outing, Jeremy Hefner made another rehab start, and St. Lucie dropped both ends of a double-header for the second straight day.

 

Las Vegas 6, Salt Lake 5

 

Noah Syndergaard struck out 8 in 5 innings of work, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and 2 walks.  Gonzalez Germen, Erik Goeddel, and Chase Bradford all threw a scoreless inning of relief.  Matt Reynolds was 2 for 3 with a 3-run homer.  Anthony Seratelli and Andrew Brown had 2 hits each.  Cesar Puello doubled.

 

Trenton 7, Binghamton 3

 

Rainy Lara let up 7 runs on 11 hits over 5.2 innings, striking out just 1.  Jayce Boyd was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Dilson Herrera was 0 for 3, while Brandon Nimmo had the day off.

 

Dayton 4, St. Lucie 3 (Game 1, 7 innings)

 

Jeremy Hefner made a rehab start and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits over 3 innings, walking 4 and striking out 4.  Aderlin Rodriguez, Gilbert Gomez, and Eudy Pina all doubled.  Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 3.  Wilfredo Tovar was 1 for 4 with an RBI in another rehab game.

 

Dayton 6, St. Lucie 5 (Game 2, 7 innings)

 

Luis Cessa lasted 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits, walking 1 and striking out 2.  Phillip Evans and L.J. Mazzilli had 2 hits each.  Evans and Jared King both doubled.  Gavin Cecchini was 0 for 3.  Wilfredo Tovar was 0 for 3 with a walk as the DH.

 

Lexington 5, Savannah 2

 

John Gant gave up 1 run over 5 innings, but did allow 7 hits and 4 walks, striking out 6.  Dario Alvarez had a bad outing, giving up 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th and taking the loss.  Dominic Smith was 0 for 3 with 2 walks, as the Gnats had just 6 hits.

 

Brooklyn 9, Lowell 3

 

Marcos Molina allowed 3 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings, walking 2 and striking out 2.  Brad Wieck and Paul Paez combined for 3 shutout innings.  Michael Bernal was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s.  Amed Rosario was 2 for 6 with an RBI.  Michael Conforto was 2 for 4 with a double, walk, and RBI; Conforto has 14 hits, including 5 doubles, in his first 9 games.

 

Kingsport 11, Burlington 3

 

Blake Taylor went 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, walking 3 and striking out 3.  Persio Reyes followed with 3 shutout innings.  Pedro Perez was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s.  Jean Rodriguez, Wuilmer Becerra, Miguel Leal, Vicente Lupo, Ivan Wilson, and Luis Guillorme all had 2 hits.
