This is how the month of July came to an end down on the farm: Nashville 3, Las Vegas 2Chris Schwinden wasn’t terrible, giving up 2 runs in 4.2 innings, but Greg Burke ultimately gave up the game-winning run in the 9th.  Jamie Hoffman didn’t start the game, but he hit 2 solo homers for the only Vegas runs of the game.  Mike Baxter was 1 for 3 with a double.  Wilmer Flores was 1 for 3 with a walk; he played second base.  Jordany Valdespin didn’t start, but he singled in a pinch hitting appearance.  Matt den Dekker was 1 for 4; after roughly a month in AAA, den Dekker is hitting .276/.347/.463, although his strikeout numbers are a little high and he has 1 hit in 14 at bats against lefties. Altoona 3, Binghamton 2Darin Gorski had another real good outing, allowing 1 unearned run on 4 hits over 7 innings, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts.  But Adam Kolarek gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th to lose the game for the B-Mets.  Wilfredo Tovar had 2 of the B-Mets 5 hits; all were singles.  Travis d’Arnaud was 0 for 4 with a strikeout, but caught all 9 innings, although he did commit a throwing error. Tampa 4, St. Lucie 1Matt Bowman took the loss after giving up 4 runs over 5 innings, striking out 3.  Tim Byrdak allowed 1 hit and 4 walks over 1.1 innings, striking out 2 and allowing no runs.  Kevin Plawecki was 2 for 3.  Dustin Lawley hit his 21st homer of the season.  Lucas Duda was the DH, and was 0 for 4 with a strikeout. Savannah 5, Asheville 1Gabriel Ynoa allowed 1 hit in 6 innings, striking out 4 to earn his 12th win of the season.  Tyler Vanderheiden, Shawn Teufel, and Beck Wheeler all threw scoreless innings.  Eudy Pina was 3 for 4 with a double.  Cole Frenzel was 2 for 4 with a double.  Brandon Nimmo was 0 for 4 with a walk and strikeout. Williamsport 8, Brooklyn 6Dario Alvarez let up 4 runs in 3 innings in a rather brief outing.  Dawrin Frias gave up 4 more in 4 innings, but he did strike out 9.  L.J. Mazzilli, Jared King, Alex Sanchez, James Roche, and Ismael Tijerina all had doubles.  Tomas Nido was 2 for 4 with a homer and 3 RBI’s.  Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 4 with 1 strikeout and 1 RBI. Kingsport 9, Elizabethton 4Richie Rodriguez was 1 for 2 off the bench, with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Jeyckol De Leon was 4 for 5 with 1 RBI.  Pedro Perez was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s; the switch-hitting 19-year old is hitting .305.  Amed Rosario doubled and drove in a run. GCL Marlins 4, GCL Mets 1Marcos Molina struck out 4 in 5 innings, but gave up 4 runs on 7 hits.  Ivan Wilson was 2 for 4 with a double.  Jhoan Urena and Luis Guillorme also doubled.  Dom Smith was 1 for 4 with 3 strikeouts.
