Last night on the farm there were two double-headers, a few players making rehab appearances, and a skunk that caused a delay in Binghamton.  Let’s check it out:

 

Albuquerque 11, Las Vegas 3 (Game 1, 7 innings)

 

Greg Peavey took his lumps, giving up all 11 runs on 14 hits over 5 innings, surrendering homeruns.  Josh Satin and Cory Vaughn had 2 hits each.  Wilmer Flores homered.

 

Las Vegas 6, Albuquerque 3 (Game 2, 7 innings)

 

Matt Bowman made his AAA debut, but lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, striking out 5.  Matt den Dekker was 2 for 4 with a double and triple.  Wilmer Flores was 2 for 4 with a 3-run homer, his 5th homer in his last 4 games.  Andrew Brown was 2 for 4 with a double and homer.

 

Erie 2, Binghamton 1 (Game 1, 7 innings)

 

Steven Matz threw all 7 innings, allowing 2 unearned runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7.  A single by Darrell Ceciliani was the only hit of the game for the B-Mets.

 

Binghamton 4, Eric 0 (Game 2, 7 innings)

 

Hansel Robles struck out 6 in 5 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk.  Travis Taijeron was 2 for 3 with a double.  Brandon Nimmo was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.  Dilson Herrera was 1 for 3 with a walk.

 

St. Lucie 7, Jupiter 6

 

John Lannan appeared for 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.  Seth Lugo followed, giving up 4 runs in 2 innings, but Jake Kuebler and T.J. Chism combined for 3 shutout innings and 6 strikeouts to finish off the game.  L.J. Mazzilli, Cam Maron, Maikis De La Cruz, and Eudy Pina all had 2 hits.  Mazzilli doubled, while Maron and Pina both had 2 RBI’s.  Gavin Cecchini was 0 for 3 with a walk and strikeout.

 

Savannah 2, Hickory 1

 

Dario Alvarez struck out 8 in 5.1 innings, while allowing 1 unearned run on 3 hits.  Four relievers combined for 3.2 shutout innings, including Akeel Morris, who struck out the side for his 8th save.  Victor Cruzado, Matt Oberste, and Jorge Rivero all had 2 hits.  Dominic Smith was 0 for 4.

 

Aberdeen 18, Brooklyn 2

 

This game was a disaster.  Casey Meisner gave up 9 runs (6 earned) on 9 hits over 3.1 innings.  Juan Urbina followed and gave up 7 runs (4 earned) over 1.1 innings, walking 6.  The Cyclones committed 4 errors in the game, including Amed Rosario’s 8th of the season.  Jeff Diehl was 3 for 4 with a double.

 

Kingsport 4, Greeneville 2

 

Yoryi Nuez walked 5 and allowed 3 hits, but only gave up 2 runs over 5 innings to get the win.  Martires Arias struck out 3 in 4 shutout innings to get the save.  Pedro Perez, Zach Mathieu, and Branden Kaupe all had 2 hits, including a double.  Miguel Leal also doubled and drove in 2 runs.

 

GCL Mets 3, GCL Marlins 1

 

Robert Whalen threw 1 inning in a rehab game, striking out 2 in a perfect inning.  Adrian Almeida followed with 4 shutout innings, although he walked 4 and struck out 2 while allowing 1 hit.  Luis Mateo got the save in a perfect 9th, as he continues his return from Tommy John.  Manuel Hilario had 2 hits, including a 2-run homer.  Jared King was 0 for 3 with a walk in a rehab appearance.
