Once again coming at you from the wilds of Connecticut.  Quick question, what will happen first?  The Mets will make the playoffs or the economy will recover?  Oh well.  Onto last night’s action! Buffalo 3, Syracuse 2Jordanny Valdespin drove in a run in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game, and Zach Lutz doubled in the immortal Val Pascucci to win it for the Herd. Trenton 8, Binghamton 5            Erik Turgeon coughed up two runs in the 7th and two more in the 8th, thus coughing up the game as the B-Mets fell to the Thunder.  Jonathan Malo wet 1 for 6, but that one was a two run homer.  Reese Havens went 2 for 4 to raise his splits to .295/.376/.436.  If he can just learn to stay on the field now.  Juan Ligares was 2 for 5 and is hitting .389/.408/.500 since being promoted to AAA.  On a night when his team scored five runs, Brahaim Maldonado went 4 for 5, yet neither scored nor drove in a run…St. Lucie 14, Jupiter 6The Lucies had their hitin’ shoes on for the second straight night, and Jefry Marte, Wilmer Flores and Stefan Welch hit back to back to back homers in the eight innings.  It was the first time in franchise history that the Lucies accomplished such a  feat.  One night after he hit a three run shot, Rylan Sandoval added a two run bomb for good measure.  The Lucies had two five run innings. Savannah 5, Greeneville 3            Angel Cuan pitched a solid six frames, giving up two runs n six hits while walking two and striking out nine!  His ERA is now 3.18.  Hamilton Bennett pitched a scoreless ninth to notch his12th save and get the RA under two (1.99).  Darrell Cecilliani went 2 for 4 with an RBI.Brooklyn 3, Batavia 1 (Game 1)Eduardo Aldama threw five scoreless frames for the win and the awesomely named Jack Leathersitch struck out five in two innings of work for his first professional save.  Let’s hope this means that the absurd “one innings every five days” rule that he and the recently promoted Cory Mazzoni were subject to are gone for good.  Danny Muno went 3 for 4 and even shifted over to play a little third baseBatavia 2, Brooklyn 1 (Game 2 - 8 innings)Jeremy Gould gave up a two out RBI double in the bottom of the 8th (once again, minor league doubleheaders are 7 inning games) to give the Muckdogs the victory.  It was the end of a long day and the Cyclones had a long bus ride in front of them.  They looked pretty lethargic.Kingsport 4, Pulaski 1            Tillman Pugh went 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI as the K-Mets defeated the Pulaski Skyways Mariners.  Domingo Tapia went a 'meh' six innings in which he gave up only one run but three walks and four hits.
