Last night on the farm, pitching was scarce outside of great performances from Matt Bowman and Marcos Molina, but there was plenty of offense to speak of.  Let’s take a look:

 

Las Vegas 2, Iowa 0

 

Matt Bowman threw 7.1 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7.  Kevin Plawecki and Andrew Brown had 2 hits each.  Brown, Cesar Puello, Matt Reynolds, and Brandon Allen all doubled.  Plawecki started at first base and was removed in the 8th in a double switch.

 

Binghamton 8, Reading 7

 

After 2 great performances in a row, Rainy Lara got hit hard, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits over 3.2 innings.  Cody Satterwhite notched his 14th save of the season.  Brandon Nimmo was 2 for 5 with a homer.  Dilson Herrera and Brian Burgamy also homered.  Wilfredo Tovar was 2 for 3 with an RBI. 

 

St. Lucie 10, Bradenton 7

 

Domingo Tapia had an uneven outing, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits and 5 walks over 6 innings.  Jeff McNeil, L.J. Mazzilli, Cam Maron, Jared King, and Cole Frenzel all had 2 hits.  King, Frenzel, and Phillip Evans all had 2 RBI’s.  Mazzilli doubled and homered.  Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 4 with a walk.

 

Savannah 16, Greenville 4

 

The Gnats scored 4 runs in the 1st inning and 5 runs in the 2nd, allowing Ricky Knapp to put it on cruise control for 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.  Jeff Glenn was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.  Victor Cruzado was 3 for 4 with a 3-run homer.  Jonathan Leoux was 2 for 5 with a 1st inning grand slam.  Jorge Rivero also homered.  Dominic Smith actually had the day off, while Champ Stuart was 1 for 6.

 

Brooklyn 7, Vermont 0

 

Marcos Molina allowed 1 hit and 1 walk over 7 shutout innings, striking out 12!  Tomas Nido was 3 for 4 with a double and RBI.  John Mora, Jhoan urena, and Pedro Perez all had 2 hits.  Urena homered for the second straight night.  Amed Rosario was 1 for 5.  Michael Conforto was 1 for 3 with a walk and 2 runs scored.

 

Kingsport 11, Bristol 9

 

Blake Taylor got knocked around by his old organization, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits over 4.1 innings.  The bullpen wasn’t much better, but the K-Mets scored enough runs to win.  Zach Mathieu was 2 for 5 with a double, homer, and 3 RBI’s.  Luis Guillorme was 1 for 3.  Wuilmer Becerra was 1 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Ivan Wilson hit his 10th homer of the season and 4th in 3 games.  In a rather odd line, Vicente Lupo was 0 for 2 with 5 walks.

 

GCL Marlins 3, GCL Mets 0

 

Jose Medina’s rough year continues, as he let up 2 runs on 4 hits over 3 innings, taking the loss.  Enmanual Zabala and Alfredo Reyes had 2 hits each.
