Last night on the farm, Savannah had a double-header rained out, while the rest of the farm clubs were in action and crawling closer to a spot in the playoffs: Las Vegas 6, Salt Lake 4Chris Schwinden was surprisingly adequate, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits over 5.2 innings.  John Church has taken over as the 51s closer; he struck out 2 and notched his 3rd save.  Eric Campbell was 3 for 5.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Francisco Pena both had 2 hits, a double, and RBI.  Zach Lutz was 2 for 5 with a homer and 2 RBI’s. Binghamton 1, New Britain 0Noah Syndergaard was dominant, again; allowing 3 hits over 5 innings, striking out 10 and walking none.  Jeff Walters struck out 2 and saved his 35th game of the season.  Blake Forsythe homered to provide the only run of the game.  The B-Mets magic number for a playoff spot is down to 1 and 6 to clinch the division. Jupiter 7, St. Lucie 0Hansel Robles gave up 3 runs in the 1st inning and the Lucies never recovered; he eventually gave up 4 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, walking 1 and striking out 2.  Kevin Plawecki and Cam Maron both doubled.  Kyle Johnson tripled. Brooklyn 6, Vermont 4John Gant struck out 7 over 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits.  Christian Chivilli and Johnny Magliozzi combined for 3 hitless innings.  Gavin Cecchini extended his hit streak to 14 games.  James Roche was 2 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBI’s. Kingsport 11, Bristol 4Brandon Welch allowed 4 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, striking out 3.  Ty Bashlor struck out the side in the 9th.  Jeyckol De Leon was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s.  Jonathan Leroux was 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Amed Rosario was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Michael Bernal was 2 for 4 with a homer and 3 RBI’s.  Eric Peguero was 2 for 5 with a double and triple.  The K-Mets have pulled with 1.5 games of the division lead. GCL Nationals 5, GCL Mets 2Gaby Almonte allowed 1 run over 5.1 innings, striking out 4.  Dominic Smith, Wuilmer Becerrra, and Ivan Wilson all had 1 hit each.
