Last night on the farm, Savannah had its double-header rained out, a lot of teams took tough losses, and one farm club became the second to clinch a playoff birth this season.  Let’s explores: Salt Lake 10, Las Vegas 8The magic has run out for Giancarlo Alvarado, who let up 4 runs in 2 plus innings.  Jack Leathersich allowed 4 more runs in 1.2 innings.  Lucas Duda was 3 for 4 with a double; he’s hitting .300 in AAA.  Zach Lutz was 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Matt den Dekker tripled and drove in 3 runs.  Ruben Tejada was 2 for 5. Binghamton 5, New Britain 4The B-Mets scored all 5 runs in the 6th inning, doing so on just 4 total hits, but that was enough to win and lock up a playoff spot!  Mark Cohoon started and scattered 4 runs over 6 innings.  Chase Huchingson struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings.  Chasen Bradford struck out 2 and got the save.  The B-Mets magic number is down to 4 to clinch the division. Jupiter 4, St. Lucie 2Alex Panteliodis allowed 4 runs on 9 hits over 7.2 innings, but the Lucies couldn’t do much on offense.  T.J. Rivera and Dustin Lawley both doubled, but St. Lucie had just 5 total hits. Vermont 1, Brooklyn 0Miller Diaz struck out 7 over 6 innings, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits and 3 walks, but took the tough-luck loss.  Brooklyn had just 7 hits, all singles, and 4 came from Gavin Cecchini, who now has a 15-game hitting streak; he’s not hitting .311/.340/.364. Bristol 10, Kingsport 6Persio Reyes allowed 5 runs in the 1st inning and the K-Mets couldn’t recover.  Reyes did last 7 innings, giving up 7 runs on 11 hits, striking out 6.  Jonathan Leroux was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles.  Amed Rosario was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI’s; the $1.7 million teenager has kicked things up a notch in August.  Pedro Perez, Jeff Diehl, and Eris Peguero had 2 hits each.  Diehl hit his 5th homer of the season. GCL Mets 6, GCL Nationals 5Dan Herrmann got bounced after 3.2 innings, allowing 4 runs, walking 5.  Yoryi Nuez allowed just 1 unearned run over 5.1 innings, striking out 5 to get the win.  Jhoan Urena was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s.  Oswald Caraballo doubled and drove in 2 runs.  Luis Guillorme was 2 for 5 with a double.  Dom Smith was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 runs scored.
