Last night on the farm, the Gnats finally played their double-header, St. Lucie’s playoff hopes continued to take a hit, and one Mets pitcher flirted with perfection for a while: Las Vegas 6, Salt Lake 3Jacob deGrom had a perfect game through 5 innings, and ultimately pitched 6 plus innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.  From an innings-count perspective, his season is just about over, maybe 1 more outing, maybe.  Robert Carson struck out 3 and surrendered no hits or walks in 1.2 innings to get the save.  Francisco Pena was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s.  Brandon Hicks, Kai Gronauer, and Kirk Niuewenhuis all doubled.  Zach Lutz walked 3 times and scored 3 runs.  Matt den Dekker was hitless, but didn’t strikeout. New Britain 5, Binghamton 3Eric Goeddel took the loss, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks over 6 innings, giving up 2 homers and striking out 4.  Travis Taijeron hit his 12th AA homer of the season and his 21st overall. Jupiter 2, St. Lucie 1 (10 innings)Michael Fulmer left after 3.1 innings with a possible shoulder injury after getting hit by a comebacker.  The bullpen did an admirable job, but Randy Fontanez gave up the winning run in the 10th.  Matt Reynolds tripled and drove in a run.  St. Lucie has lost 4 in a row and is 1.5 games back in the division. Savannah 2, Augusta 1 (Game 1, 7 innings)Tim Peterson got the spot start and lasted 3.1 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 5.  Estarlin Morel and Beck Wheeler combined for the final 3.2 innings, with Wheeler notching his 16th save of the season.  Brandon Nimmo was 1 for 4 with 1 RBI and 2 strikeouts.  Eudy Pina was 2 for 4 with a double.  Maikis De La Cruz, Cole Frenzel, and Jeff Glenn also doubled. Augusta 7, Savannah 6 (Game 2, 7 innings)Steven Matz was a little rusty after a 9-day layoff, giving up 5 runs (3 earned) on just 1 hit, with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts over 4 innings.  Brandon Nimmo was 2 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, and 2 RBI’s.  Maikis De La Cruz was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Brooklyn 6, Vermont 4Robert Gsellman allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits over 7 innings, walking 1 and striking out 5.  Juan Urbina struck out 2 and recorded the final 4 outs.  Jared King was 3 for 3 with an RBI.  L.J. Mazzilli was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Matt Oberste and Anthony Chavez both doubled.  Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 4 with a walk and strikeout, extending his hit streak to 16 games.  The Cyclones are back within 1 game of first place. Burlington 6, Kingsport 0Andrew Massie got knocked out after .2 innings, giving up 3 runs.  Martires Arias followed for 6 innings, allowing 1 run, but the K-Mets couldn’t get any runs across on 8 hits.  Yeixon Ruiz and Jeyckol De Leon had 2 hits each.  Amed Rosario tripled; for the season he’s hitting .249/.281/.370.
