Last night was a particularly good night on the farm, with a slew of quality pitching performances, some from unlikely sources.  Let’s check it out:

 

Sacramento 7, Las Vegas 5

 

John Lannan took the loss after giving up 6 runs on 8 hits over 6.2 innings.  Taylor Teagarden was 3 for 4 with a homer and 2 RBI’s.  Cesar Puello was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. 

 

Binghamton 2, Bowie 1

 

Rainy Lara was good for a change, giving up 1 run on 6 hits over 7 innings, striking out 7.  Jack Leathersich and Cody Satterwhite both threw scoreless innings.  T.J. Rivera was 4 for 4 with an RBI.  Darrell Ceciliani was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Dilson Herrera was 0 for 2 with 2 walks and an RBI.  Brandon Nimmo was 0 for 3 with a walk.

 

St. Lucie 6, Clearwater 3

 

Matt Koch was also good for a change, giving up just 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, although he walked 4 and struck out 2.  Dario Alvarez and Beck Wheeler combined for the final 3.2 innings to close out the game.  Gavin Cecchini was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s.  Alberto Cordero had 2 hits, including a 2-run homer.  Jared King was 2 for 5 with a double and RBI.

 

Savannah 5, Hickory 2 (Game 1, 7 innings)

 

Ricky Knapp struck out 6 over 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits.  Akeel Morris got the final 5 outs to pick up the save.  Dominic Smith was 1 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Champ Stuart was 1 for 3 with a walk.

 

Savannah 8, Hickory 0 (Game 2, 7 innings)

 

Robert Gsellman threw a complete game shutout, giving up just 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.  Yeixon Ruiz had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.  Dominic Smith and Champ Stuart were both 1 for 4 with an RBI.

 

Brooklyn 8, Connecticut 1

 

Marcos Molina threw a gem, allowing 1 run on 5 hits over 8 innings, striking out 9.  Amed Rosario was 3 for 4 with a triple and RBI.  Adrian Abreu also had 3 hits.  Michael Conforto was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, 2 RBI’s, and his first professional homerun.

 

Elizabethton 4, Kingsport 0

 

Blake Taylor labored through 4 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits, walking 4 and striking out 2.  Ruben Reyes and Christian Montgomery combined for 5 shutout innings.  The K-Mets had just 5 hits, including a double by Jose Garcia.

 

GCL Mets 6, GCL Nationals 4

 

Darwin Ramos struck out 5 in 5 shutout innings of work, giving up 4 hits and 2 walks.  Dash Winningham was 2 for 3 with a solo homer.  Alfredo Reyes also had 2 hits.
