Last night on the farm, St. Lucie was rained out again, the B-Mets got the Fenway experience, and both Buffalo and Kingsport went off on offensive explosions. Also, the Dominican Summer League came to an end with a pair of losses.Buffalo 15, Columbus 3Just in case an 8-3 lead wasn’t safe the Bisons added 7 more insurance runs in the top of the 9th to secure the win. Mark Cohoon lasted 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks with only 2 strikeouts. Jordany Valdespin and Luis Hernandez both had 3 hits, including a homerun; Valdespin had 4 RBI’s. Josh Satin was 1-4 and drew a pair of walks. Zach Lutz doubled and drove home 2 runs. Raul Reyes made his AAA debut doubling twice and driving in 3 runs.Binghamton 6, Portland 4Collin McHugh got the start in a game played at Fenway Park and pitched 6 shutout innings, giving up just 4 hits and a walk while striking out 6. The bullpen struggled a little, but Rhiner Cruz pitched 2 shutout innings and ended up with the win. Eric Campbell and Jon Malo had 3 hits each, but it was Kai Gronauer’s 3-run homer in the 11th that was the difference in the game.Savannah 2, Greenville 0Taylor Whitenton threw 4 shutout innings until a rain delay took him out of the game. Brandon Sage and Hamilton Bennett finished the job as the trio combined for a 6-hitter. Rafael Fernandez had 2 hits. Aderlin Rodriguez and Joe Bonfe both doubled.Tri-City 3, Brooklyn 0T.J. Rivera singled in the 7th, and that was the only thing that kept the Cyclones from getting no-hit. Everyone in the lineup struck out at least once, totaling 16. Nick Carr walked 2 and gave up a hit but still managed to pitch a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance.Kingsport 17, Burlington 14Both teams had hit totals that matched their run totals, and both teams committed 5 errors each (scary stuff). The K-Mets used 7 different pitchers to get through the game, as the offense carried them to victory. Dustin Lawley had 2 hits, including a homer and 4 RBI’s. Julio Concepcion, Greg Pron, and Jonathan Clark all had 2 hits, including a double, and an RBI. Camden Maron was a homer shy of the cycle and drove in 2 runs. Juan Carloa Gamboa and Yucarybert De La Cruz both had 2 runs and 2 RBI’s.
