Josh Satin and Jordany Valdespin each had a hit.Altoona 5, Binghamton 4The B-Mets winning streak came to an end after Josh Stinson allowed a 9th inning homerun. Jeurys Familia gave up 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings, striking out 4. Brad Holt pitched 2 shutout innings, striking out 1; Holt still isn’t putting together any impressive numbers or any long scoreless streaks out of the pen. Reese Havens was 2-3 with a homerun and 3 runs scored. Juan Lagares was 1-3 with a walk. Some newcomer listed as Reyes, Js in the box score batted leadoff and started at shortstop going 0-1 with a walk and a run scored.St. Lucie 4, Fort Myers 1John Church got the start and let up 1 run in 5 innings. Eric Beaulac is back in the St. Lucie bullpen, and scattered 3 hits in 1.1 scoreless innings. Erik Niesen and Jeffrey Kaplan also had scoreless outings. After his three-run homer the previous day, Dock Doyle was 3-3 with an RBI. Pedro Zapata had 2 hits, including a double and an RBI. Cory Vaughn doubled. Gilbert Gomez and Wilmer Flores each had a single and an RBI; Gomez batted 2nd in the lineup in just his 9th game since being promoted out of necessity straight from the GCL; not bad for a 19-year old.Rome 4, Savannah 3Taylor Whitenton struck out 7 in 6 innings, but gave up 3 unearned runs on 2 hits and a walk and took the tough luck loss. Wilfredo Tovar had 2 hits for the 4th straight game and for the 6th time in his last 8 games. Catchers Albert Cordero and Brooke Forsythe both had 2 hits as well.Brooklyn 7, Tri-City 4Jeffrey Walters gave up 9 hits and 3 unearned runs but go the win. Nick Carr pitched 1.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to wrap things up. Tillman Push was 3-4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Daniel Muno and Brandon Brown were both 2-4 with a double.Kingsport 9, Pulaski 3 (5 innings)Akeel Morris pitched a complete game (technically) and was effectively wild, surrendering 3 runs on 2 hits, walking 6 and striking out 5; his control is nonexistent but his arm is electric. Greg Pron, Julio Concepcion, Chad Zurcher, and Tant Shepherd all had 2 hits. Prom, Shepherd, and Lucas Stewart all drove in 2 runs.
