Last night on the farm, all the full-season clubs had a big-time pitching prospect getting the start, let’s take a look:Buffalo at PawtucketPPDBinghamton 7, Reading 4Jeurys Familia made his second start since returning from the disabled list, and he got hit early on once again, giving up 2 runs in the 1st inning. Familia completed 4 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, including 2 homeruns; he struck out 2 but walked none. Three different relievers combined for 5 innings, giving up just 1 run to lead the B-Mets to victory. Juan Lagares singled 3 times and drove in 3 runs; after 2 weeks he’s hitting .414 in AA. Jordany Valdespin and Dusty Ryan had 2 hits each. Reese Havens was 0-3 but walked twice.St. Lucie 5, Charlotte 2All the nerves are gone now for Zack Wheeler, who pitched 6 shutout innings, striking out 7, allowing just 4 hits, and most importantly walking none. Josh Edgin picked up his 6th save with a scoreless 9th inning. Cory Vaughn broke out of a huge slump going 2-2 with a walk and an RBI. Francisco Pena and Pedro Zapata also had 2 hits each.Savannah 7, Charleston 3Erik Goeddel pitched for Savannah after a 2 and a half-month hiatus and threw 4 shutout innings. Goeddel allowed 5 hits and a walk, but only had 1 strike out. Yohan Almonte piggy backed Goeddel and got the win, striking out 5 in 4 innings, giving up 3 runs. Albert Cordero was 3-5 with a double, a homerun, and 3 RBI’s. Cordero is on an absolute tear, and is in the middle of a fantastic second half; if he can hit as he moves up the ladder, he will be the kind of catching prospect Mets fans have been begging for.Brooklyn 10, Staten Island 2Fresh off a promotion from Kingsport, Bret Mitchell gave up 2 runs (1 earned) in 4.2 innings. The bullpen pitched a shutout the rest of the way to give the Cyclones the win. Tyler Pill struck out 2 in his inning of work in his second appearance for Brooklyn. Ismael Tijerina was 4-6 with a double. Daniel Muno, Javier Rodriguez, and Chase Greene all had 2 hits. Muno doubled and had 3 RBI’s. Rodriguez doubled and hit a three-run homer for a 4 RBI game. Greene is hitting .500 in his last 6 games.Kingsport 10, Burlington 3Miller Diaz gave up just 1 run in 5 innings for the second straight start. He also struck out 5 and let up just 2 hits. Juan Carlos Gamboa, Dylan Brown, and Lucas Stewart all his 2 run homers. Greg Pron had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.GCL Marlins 4, GCL Mets 3 (11 innings)Matthew Budgell, the Mets 10th round pick, gave up just 2 hits, a walk, and an unearned run in 4 innings of work. Roy Merritt didn’t fair as well in his 6th rehab appearance. Ryan Hutson, Eudy Pina, and Hector Alvarez all had 2 hits.
