Last night on the farm there was pitching, pitching, and more pitching, while both Brandon Nimmo and Dilson Herrera returned to the B-Mets lineup after minor injuries.  Let’s take a look:


Las Vegas 8, Albuquerque 3


Cory Mazzoni allowed 2 runs on 7 hits over 5.2 innings, striking out 8 with no walks.  Jack Leathersich struck out 2 in a scoreless 9th inning.  Vegas scored 8 runs on just 4 singles and a Kevin Plawecki 2-run homer.


Binghamton 3, Harrisburg 1


Rainy Lara was dominant for his second straight start, throwing 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4.  Brandon Nimmo was 2 for 4 in his return to the lineup.  Dilson Herrera hit a solo homer in his return to the lineup.  Brian Burgamy had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.


St. Lucie 4, Bradenton 3


Matthew Koch had one of his best starts of the season, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits over 6 innings, striking out 6.  Jeff McNeil, L.J. Mazzilli, and Cam Maron had 2 hits each.  Gavin Cecchini was 0 for 4.


Savannah 9, Augusta 2 (Game 1, 7 innings)


Ricky Knapp pitched all 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, striking out 5.  Dominic Smith was 2 for 4 with a double, 3 RBI’s, and his first homerun of the season.  Yeixon Ruiz, Champ Stuart, Matt Oberste, and Jeff Glenn all had triples; Glen drove in 3 runs.


Augusta 3, Savannah 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)


Robert Gsellman threw 5 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4, but Bret Mitchell let up 3 runs in his only inning of work.  The Gnats managed just 3 singles and totaled 11 strikeouts.


Batavia 4, Brooklyn 2


Marcos Molina struck out 11 in 6 innings, but took the loss after allowing 4 runs on 8 hits.  Brandon Welch struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings to follow.  Amed Rosario was 1 for 3 with a double, walk, and RBI.  Michael Confort was 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts.


Kingsport 5, Bristol 4


Blake Taylor lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, walking 5 and striking out 3.  But the bullpen picked him up and the K-Mets got the win.  Jean Rodriguez was 3 for 4 with a triple, homer, and 2 RBI’s.


GCL Cardinals 6, GCL Mets 2


Darwin Ramos let up 3 runs in 4 innings to take the loss.  Manuel Hilario was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
