Tim Dierkes of MLBTraderumors.com passes on a Bart Hubbuch tweet. Hubbuch says the Mets will receive Outfielder Chris Carter and First Baseman Eddie Lora.
Wagner pitched well in his time with Boston, posting a 1.72 ERA, 26 strikeouts, and 8 walks in 15.6 innings.   He could also have an impact in the playoffs.   The Red Sox agreed to decline Wagner's $8MM option for 2010, but the pitcher expects the team  to offer arbitration.   He told WEEI's Rob Bradford he'll probably turn it down, which would mean a new team will have to surrender a draft pick to sign him.
Update (Hat tip to GravediggerHebner): Steve Popper adds:
According to Popper: Carter already on Mets 40 man roster, which stands at 38; from July 1 to the end of the AAA season, Sept. 7, Carter hit .333 with 9 homers and 32 RBI (.294, 16, 61 overall); Lora is 20 and was Boston’s "Minor League Latin Program" player of the year in 2008 when he hit .300 with 5 HR and 26 RBI in 35 games for the Sox’ DSL team.
Good luck Billy!
