From Martino:

Since Wednesday, optimism about Granderson and NY Mets reaching an agreement;

The team could face challenges from clubs the like Seattle Mariners, who are willing to spend lavishly, and the Boston Red Sox, who are in championship mode.  Given those other options, the Mets will likely have to overpay somewhat for Granderson, which probably means guaranteeing four years at a minimum of $15 million per year.

 So lets see how this plays out.  Is this just another Bourn situation where they will be interested but unable to pull the trigger?
