I want to apologize to the Mets fans. The bottom line is that this has been a distraction."-Omar did not retract any of his statements, but only apologized for saying what he said during the public press conferenceAbout the trading deadline:-"I've been talking to teams. I turned down a couple of trades yesterday." The trades included "big names." ... "I've been calling around."-He says the trading deadline isn't the true deadline, something may happen in AugustAnd here's some actual baseball content from Jerry Manuel prior to this afternoon's game heard on an interview on WFAN:-Omir Santos will catch both games today.-Luis Castillo will be back for game 2, assuming no complications.-Heard good news on Wagner, he could be a "huge boost" for the team.-Reyes will "hit the ground running today." Jerry isn't concerned with Reyes going "full-out." Reyes could still be used without his explosiveness - could even bat third.-Monday's starter isn't set in stone yet, but it could be Tim Redding.
