"My disobliging ways are a matter of habit"The Rum Tug Tugger is a curious cat and there isn't any need for you to doubt itfor he will do as he do do and there's no doing anything about itThe New York Mets played baseball as if they were a pack of cats tonight in San Juan, disorganized and disinterested.   Only Jason Bay seemed at all intrigued, taking a few playful swipes at the dangling ball of yarn thrust in his face by Florida Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco (7-6) and converting them into a pair of rare (for him) home runs, but it was too little too late especially considering that most of his teammates spent the majority of the evening pooping in sand or cleaning themselves as the final score of Marlins 10, Mets 3 indicates."If you like piña coladas..."The Mets fell behind before I could even sit down with a glass of fine Puerto Rican Rum.   Chris Coghlan led off the bottom of the 1st with a walk then stole second base.   Gaby Sanchez moved him to third with a sacrifice bunt and the Mets played the infield halfway on the Hiram Bithorn Stadium artificial surface.   Hanley Ramirez hit a sharp grounder right at shortstop Jose Reyes who was apparently still thinking about getting picked off of first base in the top half of the inning as it bounced past him into the outfield for an error as Coghlan scored to make it 1-0 Marlins.   With 1 out in the top of the 2nd Bay hit a solo home run to tie it but that's the last sniff of catnip the Mets had in this game."You're gonna need a bigger scoop," said Chief Brody. In the bottom of the 3rd the Marlins began to clean up while the Mets pooped.   The pitcher Nolasco led off with a ground rule double to right-center.   Coghlan laid down a sacrifice bunt that found the perfect spot on the infield so that by the time Mets catcher Henry Blanco fielded it and threw to first base Coghlan was safe putting runners on the corners with no outs.   Sanchez doubled both runners home making it 3-1 Marlins, then advanced to third base on a wild pitch by Mets starter R.A. Dickey (6-1).   Ramirez then doubled to drive in Sanchez and it was 4-1.   2 outs later Cody Ross singled to drive in Sanchez and after 3 it was 5-1 Marlins.   It stayed that way until the bottom of the 6th when Ross hit a solo homer off of reliever Fernando Nieve to make it 6-1 Marlins.Hey Bay Bay!In the top of the 7th Bay again showed he was the only cat on the Mets who was focused on the game.   With 2 outs and David Wright on first Bay homered to deep right bringing the Mets to within 6-3 but that's as close as they would get.I'm going to need some serious rum-goggles for thisCoghlan hit a solo homer for the Marlins in the bottom of the 7th to make it 7-3.   In the 8th touted rookie Mike Stanton hit a 2-out, 3-run homer off Ryota Igarashi for the final score of 10-3 while I looked for the bottom of my bottle of rum.Box score
