Pelfrey's confidence, like the truth, is out thereNew York Mets starter Mike Pelfrey (10-5) officially entered Area 51 when he threw 51 pitches and allowed 4 runs in the 1st inning tonight to the Arizona Diamondbacks.   He left the game after 1 1/3 innings, 74 pitches, and 6 runs allowed.   Perhaps I should have left the game at that point too especially considering that coverage of Stage 16 of Le Tour de France starts at 6:30am eastern on Versus with my man Andy Schleck looking for revenge against rival Alberto Contador.Schleck in white, Contador in the maillot jauneWhere were we?   Oh yes, after 2 innings the Mets were down 6-0 and their starting pitcher was out of the game.   The Mets cut it to 6-1 in the 5th inning when Angel Pagan singled to drive in Josh Thole who had walked and moved to 2nd base on a wild pitch by Arizona starter Ian Kennedy (5-7).   In the bottom of the 6th the Diamondbacks got that run back then added 4 more for good measure, all off of reliever Fernando Nieve, and after 6 led by 10 over the Mets.   The lowlight was a 3-run homer into the 2nd deck by Mark Reynolds, his 21st.   The Diamondbacks added 2 runs off of Pedro Feliciano in the 8th and the Mets added 1 in the 9th when Luis Castillo celebrated his return from the disabled list by singling then scored on a double by Jose Reyes for the final score of Arizona 13, New York score
