Hard luck pitcher R.A. Dickey took the hill for the last time this season against the N.L. East Philadelphia Phillies.  Cole Hamels, who is trying to stay sharp for the playoffs, took the mound for the Phillies.  The Phillies have really been struggling as of late since clinching the division.  As of the beginning of the double header, they have not won a game and have major trouble scoring runs since they clinched last week.  No doubt they will turn it on when the playoffs begin-or one Philly fan could hope-which is not me( I hope they get swept in the first round)The Mets had a threat going in the bottom of the first when Jose Reyes led off the game with a base hit, after he stole second, he advanced to third on a Tejada bunt.  David Wright drew a walk but then Jason Bay hit into a double play and thus ended the inning.  Jason Bay bailed out after three innings, apparently he's been battling a sinus infection and had to leave the game.R.A. Dickey's knuckle ball was absolutely nasty today, it was the top of the sixth inning when Carlos Ruiz drew a walk.  Dickey kept his composure as he fielded a bunt by Hamels( who a year ago ruined his perfect game in the sixth with a base hit) and got Rollins to hit a ball deep to right field where Nick Evans stumbled into the Mo Zone to make the catch preserving the no hitter. You don't know your really in the middle of an historic game until the game is really over.  But somehow, you think that maybe just maybe, your about to witness something spectacular.  And today I had the feeling that maybe this might be the day.  R.A. Dickey looked as relaxed as he could be as he faced the full line-up of the Phillies save Hunter Pence. The seventh inning saw the end of not only the no hit bid, but the shutout as well.   It would be Shane Victorino who would break up the no hitter and score on a Howard base hit.In the bottom of the Seventh, after Dickey's bid ended, the focus of the game turned to the Met offense which was stymied by Cole Hamels.  And wouldn't you know, Valentino Pascucci went yard hitting a bomb to left field knotting up the game at one a piece.  It was Pascucci's first home run as a Met.Batista came in the for the bottom of the eighth and got two outs but left men on third and first base when he was lifted for Bobby Parnell.  Parnell used his knuckle curve that he learned from  Jason Isringhausen to get out of the inning.Rubin Tejada hit a one out base hit off the once unhittable Brad Lidge.  He then stole his fifth base of the year while David Wright was at bat putting David in the hole 1-2.  But David would prevail hitting a double down the third base line scoring his 59th RBI of the year and giving the Mets the lead.  David would steal third but he would be stranded there.Manny Acosta came in as today's closer and imitated K-Rod putting two men on base with two outs but managed to get the save extending the Phillie losing streak to seven games and taking Game one of the day-night double header. Side Notes:  I'm not impressed with the Phillies whatsoever, they ran their A line up out there today and even with one of their aces on the mound, Cole Hamels, they still  have some serious problems scoring runs.  I know they have nothing to play for but it's not like their mailing it in.  Jose Reyes and David Wright both had one hit for the afternoon.  There was some really nice defense today from the Mets.  Josh Satin played a good first base, David Wright and Rubin Tejada had some nice picks and Reyes went in the hole a couple of times earlier in the game.  I don't care what anyone says, I love watching the Mets beat the Phillies under any circumstances.
