Nice haircut 99Jenrry Mejia (0-1) finally got to pitch in a close game and his appearance didn't last long or end well.   In a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the 10th inning the first batter Mejia faced, Chris Iannetta, hit a solo home run, his 2nd of the season, to win the game for the Colorado Rockies 6-5 over the New York Mets.   Hopefully the Mets will Get Smart and send Mejia to the minor leagues to continue his progression toward becoming a major league starting pitcher.Gangstas in front of the busLong before that Jeff Francoeur started the scoring with a solo homer, his 3rd, leading off the top of the 2nd inning off of Rockies starter Aaron Cook.   Colorado immediately got the run back in the bottom of the 2nd when Ian Stewart scored on a Clint Barmes double.   With 1 out in the top of the 3rd Luis Castillo singled and David Wright followed with his 3rd home run of the season for a 3-1 Mets lead which was short lived. It was closeIn the bottom of the 3rd Colorado took the lead on a 3-run homer by Ryan Spilborghs, his 1st of the season.   The Rockies tacked on another run in the bottom of the 4th on a somewhat bizarre play.   With 1 out the pitcher Cook doubled.   One out later Dexter Fowler singled and Cook advanced to 3rd base.   As the throw came in from the right fielder Francoeur, Fowler ran toward 2nd base.   Mets 1st baseman Mike Jacobs cut off the throw and threw the ball to 2nd base attempting to get Fowler, but Fowler narrowly slid in safely under Jose Reyes' tag and while he did that Cook trotted home with a run.   After 4 it was 5-3 Colorado.Kurt Vonnegut used the asterisk to mean what?It stayed that way until the top of the 8th when Rod Barajas drove in Jason Bay with a single off reliever Rafael Betancourt to make it 5-4.   Then the Mets tied it in the 9th.   With Rockies temporary closer Franklin Morales on the mound Gary Matthews Jr. led off and hit a ground ball to shortstop Troy Tulowitzki who bobbled it and Matthews was on 1st base.   The official scorer ruled it a base hit.   Matthews stole 2nd base then went to third on the error when catcher Iannetta's throw sailed into center field.   A Castillo sacrifice fly plated the tying run, but Iannetta's agony didn't last long.Long distance information get me Ike DavisBox score
