"You hit a double too? Gimme some skin bro!"Nate McLouth and Adam LaRoche hit back-to-back (and belly-to-belly) RBI doubles in the 6th inning, breaking a 1-1 tie and giving the Pirates all the offense they would need to scuttle the Mets.   Pirate starter Zach Duke allowed only 1 run, scattering 8 hits over 7 innings, and John Grabow followed by Matt Dicus Capps (his real middle name) defied their terrible ERAs and WHIPs to close out the Mets."It hurts a bit, but I'll be alright."The litany of Met injuries continued.   Tonight's incident occurred when SS Ramon Martinez scored the Mets only run of the game in the top of the 5th.   In the 3rd inning, Luis Castillo didn't hit one quite deep enough and Jeremy Reed was thrown out at the plate attempting to score.   In the 5th, with one out and runners on 2nd & 3rd, Castillo actually hit a fly ball deep enough to score a run.   Martinez tagged up and sped home, for some reason choosing to slide head first.   He landed awkwardly and dislocated the pinky finger of his left hand.   He was replaced by Wilson Valdez.Young JeremyThere were a few highlights in the loss for the Mets.   Jeremy Reed entered the game batting 1.000 versus left handed pitchers, and went 3 for 3 off of Duke to leave the game batting 1.000 versus left handed pitchers.   Maligned reliever Sean Green retired all 4 batters he faced in his 1 1/3 innings of work.   Met starter Johan Santana was not his normal stellar self, but he did notch his 9th quality start in 11 attempts this season.   Perhaps the best thing about tonight's game from a Met fan perspective was that it only took 2 hours and 11 minutes to play. The Real Dirty Mets Blog moons PittsburghBox score courtesy yahoo.com
