"Hey ball, whatcha doin' after the game?"I find something very disturbing about that picture.   I found something very disturbing about this baseball game.   The San Diego Padres, last in the major leagues in batting average (.235) and last in runs scored (3.7/game) had 12 hits in 35 at bats (.371) and scored 8 runs (8/game) to beat the New York Mets 8-3."It's (mathematically) alive!"The Friars got 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st off Livan Hernandez on an Adrian Gonzalez sacrifice fly and a Kevin Kouzmanoff RBI single to take the early lead.   They put the game to bed in the 3rd.   Gonzalez hit a 2-run homer, Will Venable scored on an Alex Cora error and capping the insult was starting pitcher Clayton Richard's RBI single.   6-0 San Diego."My robe is browner than yours."The Padres scored 1 more on a Henry Blanco RBI double to take a 7-0 lead.   Then the Mets scored 3 "too little, too late" runs.   Cora's favor was returned when he scored on a Tony Gwynn Jr. error.   Fernando Tatis singled to drive in David Wright, and Jeff Francoeur scored on a Daniel Murphy double play ground ball to make it 7-3 Padres.   That was it for the Mets.   Tim Redding walked Gwynn with the bases loaded to bring home the final Padre run of the game in the 7th.Salt and PepaPlease visit yahoo.com for the box score.
