The hotel room in Ron Darling's mindNew York Mets starting pitcher Jonathon Niese was removed after 112 pitches having thrown 7 innings of 1-run ball and with his team leading 2-1.   Bobby Parnell (0-1) came on to face the Philadelphia Phillies and for the 2nd time in a week failed to record an out during an appearance.   Last time Parnell gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, and 3 runs.   Tonight he gave up 4 consecutive singles and all of the runners scored as part of a 6-run Phillie inning giving them a 7-2 lead.   The Mets teased their fans in the 9th when pinch-hitter Mike Hessman slammed a 2-out opposite field 3-run homer to make the game appear closer than it really was but Philadelphia closer Brad Lidge came on and struck out pinch-hitter Jesus Feliciano looking to end it.   The Mets are now below .500 for the first time since May 23rd.   As Bobby Ojeda astutely noted in the post game show, the Mets approach at the plate was terrible - no Mets batter walked while 7 struck out.   Final score Philadelphia 7, New York score
