Number four starter. Average pitcher who is pitching the best baseball of his career, giving up two runs or less over his past four games.Comparison: Paul Maholm ATL; Homer Bailey CIN Matt Harvey- Who is he? Number one starter. Beast.Comparison: Felix Hernandez, SEA; David Price, TB Jon Niese- Who is he? Number three starter. He has had an average career, still looking to reach the next level.Comparison: Ricky Nolasco, MIA; Wandy Rodriguez, PIT Bobby Parnell- Who is he? Late inning reliever. He has been a consistent late-game stopper for four consecutive years, however he posts a lower K/9 then many may expect, career 8.3 K/9.Comparison: Ryan Madson, LAA; Grant Balfour, OAK Zack Wheeler- Who is he? Number two starter. One start in, I have bought into the hype.Comparison: A.J. Burnett, PIT; Zack Greinke, LAD Ike Davis- Who is he? Not sure. He is an enigma, wrapped in a power hitter, wrapped in a terrible hitter.Comparison: Justin Smoak, SEA; Adam Dunn, CWS Daniel Murphy- Who is he? Starting second baseman. A top 10 second baseman in MLB, doubles power to all fields and an average defensive second baseman.Comparison: Brain Roberts (without the speed) BAL; Howie Kendrick, LAA Ruben Tejada- Who is he? Backup utility infielder. A solid defender at second and shortstop, whose offensive upside is an empty .280 batting average.Comparison: Maicer Izturis, TOR; Willie Bloomquist, ARZ David Wright- Who is he? Elite starting third baseman. He is a star, all around player and leader.Comparison: Evan Longoria, TB Lucas Duda- Who is he? Starting DH/ first baseman. An outfielder by no definition of the word, some power and the ability to draw a walk make him a decent hitter.Comparison: Garrett Jones, PIT; Brandon Moss, OAK Juan Lagares- Who is he? Fourth/fifth outfielder. Already a great defenders, 1.0 dWAR, his bat has yet to show much life.Comparison: Gregor Blanco SFG; Franklin Gutierrez, SEA Kirk Nieuwenhuis- Who is he? Fifth outfielder/minor leaguer. Seems like he can do a little bit of everything, but too many strikeouts will likely hold him back.Comparison: No clue. Jordany Valdespin- Who is he? Minor leaguer. Hasn’t produced anywhere well enough to justify his attitude.Comparison: Yunel Escobar (attitude, not skill), TB Eric Young Jr.- Who is he? Utility speedster.
