So as the march to .500 continues, rookie sensation, Ike Davis continues to show why calling him up was the right decision. Davis was 1-3 last night , hitting a bomb that would make Dave Kingman envious. Ike has looked very comfortable at the plate, batting .389 since his call up. His pitch recognition has been great, he has rarely looked overmatched. And his defense has been superb, case in point that amazing catch while flipping into the Mets dugout on Wednesday night. All in all last night was a much needed win. David Wright knocked in 2 runs with a double while Jose Reyes and Jason Bay adapted quite nicely to their slots in the newly constructed batting order, hitting back to back triples. The only black spot on last nights game was the elbow injury that John Maine sustained. This guy can't catch a break. Last night when it seemed like he finally got his mechanics straightened out ( although his velocity was still down). Maine lasted 3 1/3 inning only giving up one earned run. But the Mets dominant bullpen helped keep the game out of the Braves reach, with contributions by Hisanori Takahashi , Raul Valdez, Pedro Feliciano, capped by Frankie Rodriguez's second save of the year.  In my opinion, this team looks as if they have finally gotten their legs under them, and I expect a winning season at the very least. Oh and by the way , this Justin Heyward kid didn't impress me one bit last night !                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              " Who's the better rookie   Ike or Heyward? You Decide !"And with that said .....
