Just when you have lost all confidence in Johan Santana's ability to be the Ace of this staff, He comes back to prove us wrong !! In the last two games that he has pitched he has let up one run in sixteen innings - Last night being a thre hit , complete came shutout !! This shutout marks the seventh of his career. It was a relief to see that he had all his pitches working for him, and his velocity seems to get stronger as the game got longer ( it hovered in the low to mid '90's for most of the game). You see this is why I feel this team has a chance to do great things this year, when one guy falters ( Pelf) , the next guy tries to pick him up (Johan). And it was also great to see Johan help his own cause with that two out solo shot (which believe it or not was the first homer of his career ! All I could say was that after Jason Bay made that error in the ninth inning, I expected General Jerry to pull Johan for K-Rod - but thankfully Jerry knew better than to mess with an artists masterpiece !It was also great to see the catalyst- Jose Reyes back in the line up after a weeks absence. He went 2-4 with a run scored .And in what I guess is also good news, Oliver Perez pitched in his second rehab game last night. He pitched 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits while walking three for our St. Lucie affiliate. Ollie struck out seven and hit a batter. No news on how his velocity is.And with that said .... HERE COMES THE INFAMY !!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                " Our Ace !!"Celebrating a Birthday today is:Spot starter from the '72-'73 season,Tommy Moore( 1948).Back up outfielder from 1975, Bob Gallagher is 62 (1948).One of the unsung heroes of the '86 team, second baseman, Tim Teufel is 52 (1958).
