First off last night's game in my opinion was a very important game for the collective psyche of Mets fans ( and the players alike). Seeing Mike Pelfrey last nigh go six innings allowing only two runs harkened me back to '08 when he looked like a potential number two starter. This coupled with Jon Neises' heart breaking 3-1 loss on Thursday night has given me enough confidence to suggest that this rotation might be better than many journalists and fans alike are predicting. I know that the season is less than a week old, and we shouldn't jump the gun, but I feel that if the pitching holds up and the bats heat up, well this Mets team will be a force to be reckoned with. But enough of my arm chair prognostications because I have a series of questions that I would like you to answer.1. Who is your all time favorite Mets scrub ? Mine I have to admit is a tie between Jerry Morales and Jose Cardenal.2. Who is your least favorite Mets scrub? For me it's Rich Rodriguez.3. Who do you think is the most underrated Mets pitcher of all time ? My pick - Craig Swan.Oh and by the way , Welcome back Jose !! We have missed you ! " The all time underrated Mets pitcher !"And with that said..... HERE COMES THE INFAMY !!!Happy Birthday wishes go out to one of the many forgotten pitchers from the Mets rotations of the mid '60's, Frank Lary .(1930)Reserve outfielder from Leroy Stanton from '70-'71, is 64.(1946) Leroy was one of the minor players to be included in the awful Nolan Ryan to the California Angels for Jim Fregosi trade !Middle reliever from the '73 team, Phil Hennigan is 64. (1946)Mets drafted pitcher, Mike Bruhert from the Philadelphia Phillies on April 10, 1973. He would be later be traded to the Texas Rangers for a past his prime Dock Ellis.Pittsburgh Pirates signed Mike "Brother of Greg" Maddux of the New York Mets as a free agent on April 10, 1995.Needless to say Mets fans everywhere weren't upset or devastated when he left. And today's Mo Vaughn tidbit of the day is - He likes to go commando !
