I wasn't able to catch today's game on SNY, but at I heard most of that feed on on my awesome I-Phone app -MLB at bat 2010 ( you gotta get this !!). Johan was not stellar , giving up five earned runs ( including two solo homers in the first)on nine hits through three and a third innings. But don't let that fool you ! Sean Green like he did for much of last season allowed the Twins to blow the game wide open by allowing two inherited runners to score before giving up a earned run of his own. I know it is only spring training, but Sean Green has never done much to impress me . He walks a ton of batters, he has a tendency to be wild and in my opinion he really shouldn't be on the opening day roster on May Fifth. I would rather see Neive or Figgy in the pen rather than Green at this point. But there were a few bright spots today. Ruben Tejada I believe is making his case for being the stop gap everyday shortstop until Jose Reyes comes back. He had two well hit doubles and from what I heard he turned some good plays in the field. Omir Santos blasted a solo shot today and is hopefully making himself attractive as trade bait to teams that are searching for a catcher. Oh Yeah Jenrry Mejia also pitched and gave up one run on one hit ( please leave him of the major league roster - PLEASE !!!) But otherwise it was your typical mid March spring training game .And on that Note ..... HERE COMES THE INFAMY !!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         " You better hang your head in shame !!"Happy Birthday remembrances goes out the Mets first All-Star , The late Richie Ashburn (1927) .Reliever from the '71 team , Don Rose is 63 (1947) . Don only played one game for the Mets in '71 when he was a late September call up. He was one of the secondary players to be traded with Nolan Ryan to the California Angels in exchange for Jim "Freekin" Fregosi.Forgotten Mets backup firstbaseman from the '86 team ,Tim Corcoran is 57 (1953).And Don't forget while you watch the replay of today's game - just remember there are just 17 Keith Hernandez days until the Mets open the 2010 season against the Florida Marlins at Citi Field.
