4.0 innings, 3 hits, 4 runs, 6 walks, 1 strike out, 1 loss.  Yes the make  up came off tonight in Gee's start.  Obviously he has exceeded all expectations but he was honestly due for a Pelfrey stinker.  Lets hope that tonight got that out of the way and he can continue to develop into a very solid back-end guy.  Gee threw 87 pitches in 4 innings with only 45 for strikes.  Considering how many walks he gave up the 4 runs could have been considered an accomplishment in itself.  However, Carrasco finished the deal giving up 3 more runs in the next 2 innings amassing 7 runs vs the Mets depleted offense.  7 runs for the A's in itself is an accomplishment. The Mets did try to battle back scoring a run in the 4th to make it 4-1 on a Sac Fly from slugger Tejada to plate Pagan.  The Mets then gave up 3 more runs to make it 7-1  before a HR, what am I typing here, a HR from Jason Bay made it 7-2.  In the 8th inning Pagan lead off with a walk and the guy wearing Bay's jersey belted a HR triple to plate Pagan making it 7-3.   Bay finished  3-3 with a walk, single, triple and HR falling just a double short of the cycle.  THE STREAK IS OVER at 89.  I have not checked but Bay's SLG % may have doubled in one night, should be up to .275.  The Mets loaded the bases with Bay at 3rd but left the bags full after a Thole ground out to 2nd.The Mets fall to 3 games below .500 with 2 more to play vs the A's.  Tomorrow's game features Dickey vs Gio Gonzalez (2.69 ERA )Better recap:  Gameday
