According to Newsday:
Jeff Wilpon, chief operating officer of the Mets, said Tuesday while attending a firehouse in Manhattan that it is "fairly accurate" that the Mets are leaving WFAN. Wilpon said he expects a resolution to the team's radio deal for 2014 and beyond in about six weeks.
Well this certainly stinks, life will go on. However, it brings back memories of me as a child trying desperately to listen to the Mets games in the driveway using the car radio. Hovering around 660 until I could finally hear the game. Then of course as soon as that basehit to score a run or the blast to tie the game occurred it would fade out in dead air or often something from 1,000 miles in another direction. Oh the joys of AM. I will miss The Fan for sure.
