72-10. 6-0 when it came to winning in the Finals. Defensive player of the year. Numerous scoring titles. 5 time MVP. Jordan played in the golden years of basketball.
Rookie my ass. I wish I had a third round to go after you. Very few teams have multiple hall of famers but they have all-stars. Jordan beat Shaq and the Magic that had Penny, Anderson and Dennis Scott, Miller and the Pacers had Marc Jackson the Davis boys, Rick Smit, Heat with Zo, Glen Rice and Tim Hardaway. You want me to keep going? Guys like Weber and Shaq had to leave the East and head out West just for a chance to make it to the finals because they couldn't pass Jordan which is what made the West a power house conference.
Wanna compare age Lebron is 25 this year in his 7th year averaged 29.7 points 7.3 rebounds 8.6 assists 1.6 steals 1 block. Jordan at 25 which was the 88-89 season I believe averaged 32.5 points 8 rebounds and assists with 2.89 steals and .8 block
Did you know Lebron has never played in all 82 games?
OK rookie...lets compare age as you say....lets see how far James goes this year, when he is 25 in the playoffs compared to when Jordan was that age...then do when they were 24, 23, 22....and the Cavs are a terrible team without James....When Lebron James beat the Pistons in the conference finals to get to the NBA finals, down 2-0 and they won 4 straight, that was more impressive to me than any of Jordans titles....Jordan was great, Lebron James is better. Any GM would take James over Jordan if they were both coming out. James is stronger clearly, a better passer clearly (and hes a forward), a better rebounder clearly, a better 3 point shooter (and the line was closer with Jordan)....and yeah, you are a rookie. ...By the way, Shaq and Penny beat Jordan in the playoffs. ....any time you would like to debate me on anything, feel free to call me out. Know it alls such as yourself are easy to slay.
That is all,
So Jordan beating Magic and the Lakers in 5 wasn't impressive? Shaq & Co. beat Jordan in the year he came back and only played 17 regular season games. Next season Bulls went 72-10 and I believe swept them in the conference finals.
Really ANY GM would take Lebron over Jordan? I'm sure you could find one but not all
Um, Grogan14, ya lost me when you said the Eats was weak when Jordan played.
Really? Because it's super duper strong now, right? You're out of your mind. Beyond the fact that the East as a whole is still very weak, you're seriously saying that the Knicks and Pacers were weak? They gave Jordan a run for his money each time.
I don't care about age, either. LeBron is 25 and has been in this league for SEVEN years. One trip to the Finals, and not only did he lose, but he got SWEPT. Then he took his one seed and got ousted by the Magic last year.
Naturally he needs Shaq and Antawn Jamison to even get COSE to the Finals, and he still might not get it done.
Your argument is weak, and the FACT is that you're dead wrong. You can't be better than a guy who has won six championships when you have zero. It just doesn't work that way.
You cant be better than a guy who has 6 championships and you have Zero huh? So im assuming Scottie Pippen is better than charles Barkley right???....and yes, those Knick teams were nothing to write home about...and James need O Neal and Jamison to get close to the finals? ummmm...he did it by himself without those guys before, jackass
If you are asking us to pick Lebron or Jordan to start a team (I'm assuming in his prime) based on what we know today, I pick Jordan without even thinking. Lebron is awesome and will be an all time great, obviously, but is this even an argument right now? Jordan was a better defender, equally as athletic, a better shooter, by faaaaaar more clutch...just an overall better, smarter basketball player. Again, will Lebron surpass Jordan someday, he might very well, but you are simply underrating Jordan, shockingly enough, based on Lebron's physical tools. Let Lebron win a few rings first, let alone one, before we have this discussion.
Also, Tito, Shaq and Penny "beat" Jordan only 2 months after coming back from retirement. If he hadn't walked away in '93 he'd have 8 rings without question.
Isn't Pip better then Barkley? They had pretty even numbers. Tito, Lebron is going to be a great player but there is a reason that Jordan has moved above guys like Magic and Bird and it's the same reason he will always be above Lebron and it s MJ would not loose. James made it to the finals and was swept when the East was truly bad which isn't the case now and it is no where near as strong as when Jordan played.
I look forward to taking on the "seasoned vet" in another debate down the road. Maybe by then he will learn to click opposing when voicing his opinion
