  • The argument isn't whether or not Kaczur should be around - he is. By all means, take it up with Belichik and Caserio. This isn't a choice of "who would you rather have, the Pro Bowler or the Pill Junkie", it's a guy with a shady past who's a team player, who's with the team, and a guy with an overvalued sense of worth being seflish, who is staying away and asking for a trade. As far as the Pats running game, you're right. sort of. It's been lacking of a star runner, well forever save for 3 years of Curtis Martin and 2 years of Dillon. But their RB's averaged 4.1/carry last year, which is more than acceptable (unless you want to argue the merits of 2 1st rounders and what they should be accomplishing). And since there is some talent in the backfield, I'm just a little skeptical of Mankins (and everyone else) as a run blocker. I'm curious to see how he would be on a team that ran more often. I think in that sense, he might be more valuable to the Pats than anyone else (which may also be why they didn't throw the bank at him.) So are you saying Welker is as great as he is because of Mankins? Because I think it's because of Welker. I think Mankins as a blocker is great, but within that system they'll be fine without him, plus saving the $, plus getting a pick. We thought we needed Milloy in 03. We thought we needed Branch. Samuel. Losing Mankins isn't gonna be the blow to the team people think it is.

  • I didnt think we needed Milloy...i definitely had NO problem with letting Branch go...he never even had a 1000 yds with the Pats or double digit TD's, and he got 39 million?? You are insane if you dont think we blew it by not signing Samuel....i really dont have too much of a problem with the Patriots letting him go, 50 mil is alot, but i also dont have a problem with them paying him either...its a tough choice....just pointing out that Kaczur is a piece of garbage

    • I think considering what Samuel wanted and the way he played (specifically one play) in that SB, he didn't deserve his asking price, and the pats were gonna lowball him. A lot of things went wrong in that game, but a shutdown corner makes that pick. Branch, considering what we got back, was totally worth it, and if we get a 1st rounder, a 2nd rounder or 2 picks for Mankins, than that would be worth it too. THe thing with Milloy was more a matter of it was like 2 weeks before the season started and no one had any idea who'd be playing SS. Kaczur is a pill-popper. Fine. You know who else used to be a pill-popper? Mr. NFL himself, Brett Favrerervererevvvvere.
