  • MPH is right look at lee last year on the indians he went 7-9 with the indians and 7 and 4 with the phillies. He is clearly an NL pitcher he won the cy young in 08 because half the season he was pitching BEHIND the yankees ace C.C. Sabathia and after a year of success teams have figured him out. I beleive he will have a successful season but the mariners wont take the west. MPH is right texas is way to powerful with Hamilton, Cruz, Young, Kinsler and now VLAD they made a late push last year without HArden. The addition of harden just makes them more likely to take the west.

  • Why is there two virtually same comments from two different log-ins. People if you want to cheat the system don't be so obvious when your doing it. Have a little respect for the site and its participants.

  • I wasn't aware that chone's batting average in the post season had anything whatsoever to do with the regular season.. but thanks for pointing that out. Why am I hyped on Lee? Well, as I said he has already proven that he can dominate the AL, as evidenced by his cy in 08. But Lee went 7-4 with a 3.39 ERA and 74/10 K/BB ratio in 12 starts for the Phillies in 2009. Oh, and you wanted to talk postseason right? Lee had a 4-0 record, a 1.56 ERA and a 33/6 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 postseason innings. But yeah, he was only a one and done you're right... And in response to the comment above which was oddly posted twice.. yes, Lee did pitch behind C.C. that year... and now he's going to be pitching behind KING Felix... what's your point?

  • Dude again Felix had 1 TREMENDOUS YR and you want to put him in the hall of fame...the dudes lifetime record is 58-41...He throws HEAT but he's a fantasy player..You downgraded defensively at 3rd base..You added Milton Bradley who is a Frickin Head Case and could explode at any time.. But Lee had 1 solid yr with the Indians and if he was so $$$$, why did the Phils ship him off without even blinking? He starts every season looking good and finishes most season on a losing streak....They havent made the playoffs since 2001 and I dont expect them to make it til 2020

  • Didn't you say in your first fancast that "Figgins was a defensive upgrade from Beltre"? Although I agree he's not, I'm just trying to understand your view here. And I wouldn't say he's a significant downgrade in the least. His bat definitely outweighs that. And Felix won 19 games last year and had 217 strikeouts. How can you even remotely begin to argue that? The kid came into the league with astronomical potential, and after some maturing finally reached it last year. From this point he's only going to continue that dominance and establish himself as one of the best pitchers in the league. Oh, and the Phils shipped him off because they received arguably the best pitcher in the league in Roy Halladay. They also have J.A. Happ who has a very similar pitching style to Cliff Lee, so I'm sure that's where they felt they could part with the lefty.

  • Shaft's pretty dead on. You guys say Cliff Lee is a one hit wonder and an NL pitcher? Tell that to the Yankees. You say King Felix is a fantasy pitcher? He's TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD and already an ace with some of the best stuff in baseball. He's only going to get better. They have the best defense in the league and won 84 games last year while being outscored offensively. Not many teams can do that this year. They added a ton of speed obviously and don't sleep on Milton Bradley having a solid comeback campaign in a laid back place. Texas is solid- but they're much younger on the rotation and Rich Harden's arm can implode at any time...not to mention he was pretty mediocre as a Cub last year. In no way are they the favorite. When it comes down to it- Seattle has the better overall team and it should be an outstanding race. Nice work Shaft-

  • @ MPH. I'm not calling you a cheater. I was pointing out the first two written comments for this debate (Ewb & Hbod) that are the same under two different log-ins. So I was mentioning what seems to happen on this site all too often. Some participants using many different log-ins to either win their own debates or effect that of others. I believe you to be one of the honest users here at FanvsFan. Sorry I didn't make myself more clear in my original post.
